What kind of wood sealer????

Help.....

I was cleaning my house cues and the protectant layer came off. Since they are house cues I really do not want to send them in to be professionally refinished. I sanded the shaft smooth with a 600 grit and then a 1200 grit. What kind of sealer/protectant do cue makers use?

Don't put anything on the shaft... If that is what you are talking about... Just burnish it with a piece of smooth leather.
