Tried it, liked it, others on here have talked about their success with it. Haven't heard anything bad except there was some questions about it's legality in the BCA but one owner said he called the manufacturer and they claim it IS legal... don't see how, but hey... I'm no expert on the rules I just bend them!

It seems like if you can stand all the attention or possibly embarassment from using such a creation it definitely performs very well.

In my opinion... No. It was the easiest to jump high and short with ( i.e if you're tied up on another ball about an inch away ) but for longer shots, it jumped well, but due to the thinner diameter and the design I couldn't hold it like a normal jump cue for a longer jump... if you are a person that holds the butt of your jump cue like a dart, then it could be good, but if you prefer to jump in a more standard shot fashion... that's where I had some problems.

All in all... wait until Predator releases their new jump cue to the public. I saw it in Valley Forge at the Expo before it goes on sale, and I would love to get my hands on one! The demonstration made it look easy. (don't they all)

So if you aren't in any urgent need for a jump cue... hold off and wait until you can try all the ones you're curious about and develope your own opinions! :D

Personally I have a J&J jump/break, I used to break with it... but it sucked for that. I get more power into a rack with better results using my Predator 314-2 shaft. I was however impressed with the balance and jumping ability of the jumpstick portion... now I show off a little around the pool hall doing some one handed jumps left or right handed! I still can't do that with the Lucasi jump stick that I own! It just seems like it takes less angle and less power to get that "pop" off the table you know?

Also you can't beat the price... if you shop around you can pick one up for $60 AND have a double purpose cue that performs!

I have owned a Dr Popper for about three months and it is really uncanny as to how it lifts the ball with considerable control.

It is a bit hard to aim the shot if it is long and the hit is critical. The stroke has to be dead through the heart of the ball or the cueball goes off on its own tangent.

The dart stroke is the only one that the cue responds to. I have been able to jump low and long with the dart stroke and have also been able to jump an entire rack when I needed to.

The most fun is showing how to jump with the cueball less than a half inch from the obstructing ball.

The trick with the Dr Popper is to stroke dead through the heart of the ball and let the ball push the cue out of the way rather than hitting just below the point of the equator. The Dr Popper weighs 2/3 the weight of the ball, allowing this type of hit.

If I remember right... it should be the end of this month, but I don't know exactly what's going on because they've already pushed the store date out from the end of last year to now... so............. no promises.

i saw a really blurry bad pic of the predator jump cue on some website. no details about it were given though. anyone know anything about it? from the pic, it was all black, so i would assume it is graphite or fiberglass?

Yea, it was made of a composite material but I couldn't tell you what as I don't believe it was revealed.

I can't be sure though... I mean look at the BK2 it's all black and that's made of wood :?

I really wasn't close enough to tell :(

true, the bk2 is black, but the shaft is not. the shaft of the jump stick i saw was black, which leads to me instantly think graphite. i do know they are using low deflection technology, but if the shaft is graphite, then it's probably built differently. as in not a 10 piece splice, but probably still hollow. maybe one of the predator reps here can give us some details?

i really doubt if it would be low deflection as neil 1ce said that jumping and low defletion does not go hand in hand.

i think it was neil or one of the predator guys that said that it would have low deflection technology. i've heard that low deflection and jumping don't go together, but i'm not entirely sure that is correct. i can jump pretty well with my bk2 shaft.
