Hi!
This time I would like to ask you about the difference between those two. How are they made, what makes the difference between them? Is that expression stand for only the forearm's construction or for the whole butt's?
I would really like to know what that is for as it makes me go mad that I don't know what that means exactly.
Thank you very-very much in advance for your help!
Back in the days cue makes realized that a one piece cue has a good chance to warp so in order to strengthen and to stabilize the cue they started to construct cues from two pieces (I'm not talking about jointed cues).
Since The glue quality at that time was poor they looked for a way to enlarge the surface for glueing.
They have achived that by cutting the two pieces in zig-zags and then they spliced them together and that's how you get point in the cue...
this is a full splice.
When jointed cues first came out, all the butts were constructed with the full splice technic, meaning that the butt of the cue was made from two pieces that were spliced together, one piece is from the butt end to the splice and the other is from the joint to the splice, just like how most Sneaky Petes are constructed.
Half spliced cues came later on when glues got better and also new custruction methods were intruduced.
Half splice means that the forearm is made from a two pieces spliced together and the attached to the handle, in this method the butt is usually constructed from 4 pieces, the two spliced pieces, the hadle, and the butt end
The full splice construction is what makes SP's feel so solid and why people like then, it also explains why a simple yet good SP will cost over $300

Now I can understand the whole story, thank you very much skor!
Those points on the lower pic look amazing, I think I've seen something like that pic at Dzuricky's homepage! It is great to see how it is put together!
Thank you once again!
I did take that pic from Dzuricky's web site...
