Hi everyone. I used to play pool casually almost everyday for 4-5 years, but haven't played much the past 2 1/2 years. Was just wondering which of these 3 should i get. Since I only played casually back then, I regularly use housecues. I'm trying to pick up the hobby again. Since I'm pretty much back to square one, I was planning on getting a 314-2 shaft on whichever cue i purchase.

all opinions are welcome whether play-wise or design comments. thank you in advance.
The Schon STL-9 is one of my favorite cues, so it has to be my pick...
all of these cues are great and they will all play great with the 314 shaft.
I've never hit with an Espiritu Cue so I can't really say anything about it.
I do prefer the Schon over the Pechauer when it comes to "feel"

A Schon (any model) cue with a 314 predator shaft would make a deadly weapon on a pool table IMHO.

thank you for your opinions. I've found another cue that I like (aesthetically) although it's from a different store..

what do you guys think of this one?
EDIT: I found another one that I like (note that as of now I'm just looking at the styles that I like cause I don't know anyplace here that I can try these cues on.)

Carolina Cues are an up and coming cue company. I have heard they make some fine playing cues. I was at their website today, checking out the cues, their prices seem pretty good. I hope there might be someone selling their cues at VF in March so I can test drive one myself.
They do have great prices for what you get, almost too good to be true....
someone was posting some pics of his CC cue that looks great and he said it only took them a month to make it.... I think it's too fast, it's like they didn't gave the wood enough time to stabilize between cuts... that may cause problem in the future....

Well, if i were you, I'd get a Predator 5k5. But as I see, you don't really feel like buying a production cue, so I'll tell you what would I buy: 1) The Schon - any of them -; or 2) a nice Mezz from here: http://www.platinumbilliards.com/index.php?cPath=21_83 Check out them all the way up from the ZZ08! Hope you'll have the best cue for yourself!

That was my Carolina Custom
Shoots as well as my schons if not better
Can order with a pred shaft if you want
This one has ivory and silver inlays for under 1000 and is one of a kind
I ordered another

I own a Schon stl9 and a stl13. Superior cues with superior hits (not a big fan of the predator 314 shafts--not worth the extra $200--schon's original shafts are great!). Good luck!

okay. i've narrowed my choices down to a schon stl-9 or a pechauer IV3-314. decisions.. decisions..

One huge difference between the schon and the pechauer is the simple fact that one is wrapped and the other isn't. What type of cue are you used to shooting with- wrapped or unwrapped? They're both fine cues but if you're used to a wrapped cue the pechauer might feel stranger to you.

i normally play with bar cues. so no-wrap is fine. but sometimes i use my cousins cue, which is wrapped. and that's fine also. design wise, i like the pechauer better. but then, if the schon plays a lot better, then i'd sacrifice the design for playability.

In that case, get the pechauer (vent2). They hit good, especially with the 314 shaft. I noticed it's also a limited production cue (100 made), so that's a plus too.

I would honestly aprreciate if you upload some of the pictures of your Pechauer. I just can't find any sharp and high-detailed pics about them - only these sharpless ones :o(

thank you for all opinions. I've decided to get the pechauer iv3-314. aside from liking the design better than any schon stl series, it also comes out cheaper since it already comes with a 314 shaft and i don't have to buy it separately for another $200. now i'll just have to wait for my new credit card to arrive via mail. 8)

I never noticed that I was this fickle-minded. I ended up ordering a schon stl-9 with an ob-1 shaft even though just a week ago I've decided to get the pechauer iv-3. Now if only I can fastforward to next week. 8)

I would have gone for the Schön either - seriously!
Hahaha nice one Sky.. after reading this topic i realise you were in the same situation that I am in right now when it comes down to picking a cue
Glad you finally made a good decision ;)
Cheers Coop
