Hi,
I've been using a predator cue for almost 3 months now,
and from the look of it, it's time to do some cleaning on it on the shaft.
I realized the 314 Shaft itself is very expensive,
so I don't want to ruin it by cleaning it with the wrong product/method.
What's the best method/products to maintain the 314 Shaft?
My average hour on the table is around 2 - 3 hours per day.
Many thanks for any comments :)
Regards,
MD. Zeremy

You'll probably get a dozen different replies to this with the emphasis on different. Some people say you can polish it with those plastic cleaning papers or 1500-2000 grit sandpaper, others say that reduces the shaft size. Some say bleach, some say alchohol, others say God only knows what.
The qclean products sold by seyberts are pretty good, though maybe a tad expensive compared to home remedies. If it has been a couple of months I might suggest starting with the qclean products, but then I'd clean it more often with something less abrasive so that I didn't have to resort to that. The qclean stuff is a fine scouring powder which smells like it has some bleach in it, it is kinda of like a finer version of household scouring powders (ie. ajax, bonami, zud, etc.).
I personally have those products, but don't use them regularly. Weekly I will usually clean my shaft with Fast Orange (a waterless hand cleaner), clean that off with SLIGHTLY damp cloth or paper towel, wipe it down with rubbing alchohol to get rid of the dampness, and then burnish it with a piece of leather. If it gets really grubby after a while I use the qclean products.

Try this link:

Specifically I'm talking about the product called "Q-Clean" the first item on that page. However, you may find the finishing "papers" useful too. Also you may want to just read about the other products to see if they appeal to you. Seybert's also sells a cleaning kit which consist of all the q products and is discounted. You might want all the products I don't know, but my experience has been that though I bought them all I only use the cleaning powder and the "papers".

BTW you may want to consider the bottom item on that page the "LEDR Burnisher", it does a real good job. It is actually only a piece of pig leather and any piece of leather may work as well, I don't know.

When I bought my 314 shaft, from SEYBERT's by the way, I also purchased the Q-Clean special they were running at the time. It contains Q-Clean, Q-Slick, Q-Glide, and Q-Smooth products. I usually clean my 314 every month or two depending on need. I also wipe down the shaft regularly when I am using it and after each use before it goes into it's Predator case. I figured that if I was going to spend the money for the shaft, I might as well spend a little more to properly care for it also.
If you want the BEST then get a Seaky Clean.
What is a Seaky Clean ... and Where do you buy it ... them ... whatever ???
