I just bought a newer Samsara version of the xbreaker on ebay and I'll let people know how good of a cue it is..I got it for 373 shipped..black no wrap..I haven't really heard any feedback other then about one post about the newer ones and how great they were..night and day difference..and considering I've gotten a chance to play with a Samsara cue..I'm hoping the craftsmanship and quality are similiar..I would never normally pay that much for a break cue but since it's made by them and i just spent about 2300 on a custom..heh..why not..and that custom is one of a kind..it'll be done sometime next month..i'll post pics when i get it..lots of snakewood and sterling silver..

Hi

I bought a golden brown with lizard wrap couple months back..took month and half to get it too me..but finish is very good compared to old ones which were suppose to be not too good...

But.....

.....Be warned my x-breaker broke a month after i got it (samsara made) the joint where you take the end off to make it a jumper just keeps turning and won't screw tight or come apart..richard from x-breaker said he will replace or repair for me but i had to pay shipping one way and insurance for it! so all tho finish is better is still might break.

obviously with new products this sometimes can happen untill all creses can be ironed out.

Best of luck with cue it does give a good whack but can take some time to get used to.

Thanks

I had some of the top break cues out there and sold them all.... I now use a $50 cue and my break is better then ever.....

Don't waste your money on fancy break cues, a good break comes from your stroke and not from the cue....
and if somehing happens to the cue just get a new one or a new shaft for $25 and you're good to go, no heartache on a $300 - $400 cue that broke or warped or whatever....

your quite right in what your saying that it is in the stroke but you could also say that about a playing cue why spend 2grand on a fancy custom cue when you can do most shots with a house cue....

Normal shooting require a lot more finesse then breaking, the feel and feedback of the cue has more importance on shot during play.... sure, you can adjust to any cue but it's never really feels right...

I think that MY main problem with high end breaking cues is that I hold my break back because I fear that the cue/shaft might get damaged, mybe if I was sponsored by one of those cue makers and I will get 3 cues a year I won't have that problem.....
I feel more comfortable with a cheap cue for breaking, this is when I really let my stroke go to work and I really get great breaks....

Most of the break cues have a stronger taper to prevent the shaft from warping and to give extra power, well I don't need that extra power..... and from my experience, I get better breaks with a pro taper.
You can get cheap shafts with phenolic ferrule/tip combo (or plain ferrule with leather tip for that matter) for about $20 - $40 and match them to any butt.... and as long as the balance of the cue is right and the weight is between 17.5oz to 18oz you'll have a break cue that will work just as well as any top brand break cue....

well i got my new xbreaker and i will say that i haven't had a chance to let loose with it yet on a break but OMG does that thing jump..on my first jump attempt and max force i actually jumped a ball from the headstring towards the footspot and i cleared the whole table and by about 6 inches high and off the table it went..i've never jumped a ball that far ever..that's on an 8 foot table by the way..with my old sledge hammer i was lucky to clear a ball a diamond away..ha ha
