View Full Version : Porper Cut Rite - Shaft doesn't go in to the ferrule?

Hi,

I just received a Porper Cut Rite and was installing a tip on my cue.

I used a box cutter to trim it down so it would fit into the cut rite (it was a 14mm tip) and the shaft slid all the way into the cut rite to the plastic stopper however this was not deep enough for the blade to reach down to the ferrule of the shaft.

Are the tips I am using just unusually thick or is this some sort of an issue with the cut rite?

It's almost like the blade needs to be moved down about 1/8" of an inch or so before it would be trimming the entire width of the tip.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I wound up just doing it by hand with the box cutter and then burnished it up real nice and I have to say it came out pretty well and I am happy with how it's playing but for future reference I would love to be able to use the cut rite. It did do a wonderful job of cutting the part of the tip that it did reach and would speed up things tremendously. I was so paranoid about using the box cutter I think it took me about 45 minutes to trim it down nice and flush with the ferrule.

Thanks in advance,

Marc
