I have some answers, but some might not approve considering the source. If you like I will post my thoughts on the 314-2, but only if you approve.

Even though the differences seem small, they add up to make quite a difference. The shaft I have is for the P2, which means the only difference is basically the ferrule and tip. Even so the shaft is much more predictable and spins the ball a lot more than the 1st generation. I am not saying that it's like 20% more, but it's definitely noticeable and allows you to possibly go places you haven't gone before.
Plus the new ferrule definitely resists chalk and scratches better than the previous one, this will make the cue repair people happy since it has a higher melting point which used to give them fits.
Overall it's a nice improvement and the increase in price is very minimal, I think that Predator users will enjoy the changes we have made and might even pursuade others to switch to it.
thank you for your input Neil I am using the 314-2 on my p2 sold black as well and my z-2 is on the p2 10th anversary. I love hitting with it and yes I have seen a difference in the "action" I get off the ball, will need a few months to get the control down right I think ... and yes it is taking the cue ball to places it has never been LOL
