Hi,

I'm getting close to ordering a new cue, probably a Predator 2 with the 314^2 shaft and I am trying to figure out if I want to get a 30" shaft or the standard 29".

I'm about 6'4" tall and was wondering how people felt about the longer shaft length, advantages and disadvantages of it.

Thanks in advance,

Marc

I would think that with your longer wingspan that the longer shaft would suit you better. I may keep you from having to grip your cue all the way at the end. If that is the case then the longer shaft may be of use to you.

I usually change my grip position in order to fine tune the speed of my shots. I will choke up on the grip and shorten my bridge on very light shots, while on shots that require a harder stroke, I will grip further back and lengthen my bridge. 8)

That's what I was thinking.

I often find myself holding the cue down by the end of the butt on some shots and on those shots I always find I do poorly, whether it be psychological or an actual balance issue I can't say though :)

I need to see if I can find somewhere in the Seattle area to try a 30" cue and see how I like it. I wouldn't mind trying out a Z shaft either.

Thanks for your input, always nice to hear someone elses opinion.

I'm 6'3" with long arms. I've been playing with 30" P314 shaft for years and I like it a lot. I've tried 60" cues as well but didn't like the feeling. So 30" shafts are the way to go for me.
