I was told once not to use a tip pik on a morri tip, is this information correct? What is the best way to make the tip hold more chalk?

It's not good to pick any layered tip. Just scuff it up a little with your shaper.

You can use a tip pick on layered tips if you are careful about what you are doing. Just push straight down AND DO NOT TWIST, and don't penetrate too deeply and you should be fine.
