Then after that I am going to start seeing an instructor in San Antonio about every 2 weeks. Hopefull I will start improving my game, cause I plan to focus on that all freakin summer!!!!

Didn't you say something about if you return within six months they let you go through the course again at no additional charge?

yeah I want to go back the problem is school and getting time off from work....it has been killing me....I mean here I have all this knowledge both written down and in my head.....but I can't get to a table to practice WTF! I really hate that....I read you had a table at home right? Just stick to your mother drills and you'll be knocking em dead in no time yo.....but do me a favor and ask about the advanced classes in Dec hear in San Benito TX maybe we can meet there! Plus if we book as buddies we get a discount....

Hell yeah I will ask about San Benito. If we can go there I am all for it. San Benito is not far from where I live maybe 2 hours tops. Anyway, yep I have a table at home. And trust me I will practice the drills every day. I want to get better so this is only the start. I will write down all kinds of stuff, thought about taking a recorder too. LOL I don't know, might just take my laptop to type it all in there. 8O

I hear the CIA is pretty good at getting unwilling passengers on to planes for overseas flights.

Well it is finally here, tomorrow I am off to see the wizard. LOL Well ok maybe not the wizard, cause I don't think he could give me game. Maybe the people at Pool School can help me find a game. LOL I leave tomorrow and then I will be there for three fun filled days of playing pool! Or getting told how horrible I am at pool. LOL Well I am outta here, we will talk to you all more about it next week.

Well today I found out what my one really bad habit is that has been troubling me for at least a year. Having someone actually point it out, and how to fix it was great. Hopefully I can keep implementing it and become better. This school is very informative, and it isn't just practice at a table. They record you, and we had good lectures, and discussion. I learned two things about my stroke, on my own sitting in a lecture. It was like the light bulb went off. So anyway, Day 1 was very successful, and I can't wait for Day 2 and Day 3. I will keep you all posted.

Well day two was a success. My stroke is getting better, but I backslid a little when I choked up with my bridge hand today. They taught us the S.A.M. version of aimming. Although it was different than anything I have ever used before I think it will help me greatly. I just hope I can put all these pieces of the puzzle together, and have a really nice game put togther. I intend to come back in Oct. or Nov. to take a refresher course. Hopefully next year I can take the expert course. I really can't believe how much they have taught us in two days. I mean, it isn't overwhelming at all. They give you a binder with good drills and good notes in it. We just add notes to the binder. I think when I get home and practice on my own religously it will help tremendously. I just hope I stay out of my bad habits. I think I will set up my video camera and monitor myself a few times, just so I can make sure I am not falling into bad habits. Well so far after day 2 I am impressed, and I would recommend this school to anyone. They have one hell of a resume.

Well I have learned alot from this school, and hopefully it is all absorbing into my head. I just hope that I can take what I learned and apply it correctly. I am going to go hard into practice mode for the next few months, and then go take my refresher course in Oct, or Nov. If anyone has any questions about it let me know. bygjerry can tell you all more about it too. It is a great school.

What was the cost for the 3 days of lessons?

txplshrk
06-17-2006, 07:17 PM
Well there are different prices for different classes. Most people start out with the Advanced class and it is 3 days for $695 or $38.61 per hour. Then if you go back within 6 months for a refresher of the same course it is only $99 or free if you bring someone that pays. If you pay it breaks down for both classes to $22.08 per hour, or if you get the second one free it breaks down to $19.30 per hour. I know it all sounds a little expensive but a lot of instructors charge between $20 - $30 per hour. I learned so much in that class that I would easily pay for it again. If your serious about pool then lessons and pool school will help greatly. If you got any other questions then check out their website.

You also can get a discount for bieng an APA/BCA member or if you sign up with a buddy. If you have the time to practice and apply what you would learn I highly recommend it. But if you aren't that hard core then maybe it's not for you. But in all honesty some of us carry more than six bills in there cue case alone! :P

txplshrk
06-19-2006, 04:00 PM
I wish I could carry that much at all times. LOL Jerry is right people. the prices change depending on what you want to do, make sure to call them and find out what the prices are for you. If you want to get better and are serious , they can help anyone.
