Threading tenons

I just purchased a Unique "cue companion" lathe, and I am having a rough time threading tenons without breaking them. I have the video that came with the lathe, but it just isn't working that easy for me. I am using fluted maple tenons from Atlas Billiards. I am turning the tenon down to the correct diameter before threading and I am using candle wax on the tenon, just like the video says to do. I was hoping someone might be able to throw a little of there experience my way.

It might be because you are not turning the tenon down far enough and you are breaking the tenon. Try turning the tenon down a little further. Let me know how it works. I have a hardly used Porper Model B for sale if you know anyone who wants a lathe let me know. www.abctables.com
