Hi Everybody,

I just sold my break jump cue because I had one with a phenolic tip (oliver stops break keu) and I really did not enjoy that.

Now I am in the market for a new break keu and am also considering buying a seperate break keu and a seperate jump cue.

To make sure I make the right decision I would like to ask for some input from people who feel the can offer insight. The cues I am thinking about:

1. Predator BK2
2. Mezz Powerbreaker (though don't know if the first or the second powerbreaker is better).

I would really appreciate some input on the cues above but also on other break cues people have good experience with. I am also hearing mixed reviews about the Xbreaker. People on this forum seem to dislike it. People I have spoken to who have broken with it says it breaks quite hard. I find it a tad expensive personally as I was hoping to pay a max of 350 dollars. However if it is really really good i might strech that amount.

The problem I had with my previous break keu is how badly the phenolic tip held chalk. So I would also like to ask some input on which tip to have on the break keu (heard that the powerbreaker from mezz also does not hold chalk that well, is that true?).

I know my next question is hard to answer as it is personal but still I am going to give it a shot: what weight range should the breakkeu be? I am considering 19oz as I am a relatively small person.

And the final question (apalogies for the long post) is what kind of jump cue to buy. There are a lot of different ones, some cheap some very expensive. I want a good one so not neccessarily going for the cheapest one, however paying 200 dollar for a jump stick seems to much.

I am also still willing to consider a break jump combination cue if anybody has any good recommendations...

So please help me out. I live in the netherlands and it is hard to get good info around here!

Thanks!!!! :D

Hey Sergio,

I've been playing with a Mezz Powerbreak 2 for the last year or so and it's worked pretty well for me. It is quite a bit shorter than a regular cue so it takes some getting used to. I like it because i flick my wrist on the break and i found that the butt hits my forearm with a longer cue. The only other difference is the interchangeable weight rings, which make it easy to change the weight, but i picked a weight i liked and have never changed it since, so its not really that useful. The tip is a bit softer than phenolic, which i like better than the rock hard tips on some other break cues. But, if you prefer a full-length break cue I'd go with a Bk2, which I found breaks beautifully. Hope that helps.

Vic.

Oh and one more thing... Mezz recommends that you do not remove the butt end and try to jump with the powerbreak 2. I've tried it before and it can kind of jump, but not nearly as well as a real jump cue.. So if you are thinking of getting a jump break cue, i would think about getting something else.
