Seeing as how some people are curious about the Limbsaver plus the lack of any real review, here's my take on it.
A few months ago I finally took the plunge and upgraded my cue from a lowly Cuetec (under the Maximizer label) to a Viking F103. Fantastic wolf design, but I digress. :) It's a 19 oz cue, but after putting a 314 shaft on it, I found the balance of the cue to be too rear-heavy for my liking. I also felt that I was ready for something a little lighter. So naturally, I removed the weight bolt from the butt.
This did something incredibly unexpected, at least to me. Sure the weight felt right at around 18 oz. In fact, I'd say it was perfect and even the balance was right where I'm comfortable with. However, the entire cue all of a sudden felt REALLY hollow. I mean, it was kind of hollow feeling to begin with before I took out the bolt, but this was ridiculous! It was to the point where it was affecting all my shots because there was so much vibration going on. My follow, draw, and english were not the weapons they once were.
I had remembered hearing about the Limbsaver when it was first released about how it was this wonderful accessory that would change the way a cue felt by reducing vibrations and making the cue feel "solid". I felt that it was a gimmick and only a sucker would get that thing. But at this point, I was willing to give it a try. I received it in the mail, put it together, and replaced my bumper with it.
And now for the big question: Does it work? YES.
What a huge difference it made to my cue! What was once a "hollow" cue with a really empty sounding hit is now a really solid feeling twig. At first I thought it was my imagination, but after a few racks, I can definitely say that the Limbsaver does what it is supposed to. My shots are back to being consistent and I am one happy shark.
Hope this review helps and I'd be happy to answer any questions you guys might have about the Limbsaver.
