Well I got my new I-2 Shaft in today, and wow what a change. I have been used to playing with just a regular old McDermott shaft with the 3/8" x 10 joint. I usually have no problems cuting anything or putting a lot of english on the cue ball. I just shot a few games with the I-2 and wow, what a difference. I feel that after a few months of play I will be able to see some dramatic improvements. I know it isn't a predator, and most people in here like predator, but I think this shaft will be a good fit for me. I also wanted a McDermott shaft for my McDermott cue. It is also my first Moori tip, and I will have to figure out if I like it or want to go back to sniper. The one weird thing I noticed about this cue, and don't know if it is an advantage or a disadvantage. It's ferrel is only 1/4". It looks really short compared to what I am used to, but I guess that is part of what makes it shoot different. Well I will give you all an update after a few nights at league, and a few weeks of practice. So far I like it! :D

Lets us know how it is going and how you like it, because I have been interested in this cue for a while now.

Shorter ferrule = less deflection from the way I understand it.

Well from what I see of it playing tonight it does have a lot less deflection. The Moori tip isn't too bad either, but I want to see if it lasts as long as the sniper I have on my original shaft. I will let you guys know in a few weeks how it goes with playing with it. I have all intention of playing with it in league this Thursday.

Well I didn't do very good Thursday night at pool league, largely due to the fact it was the last night, and all I cared about was getting drunk. As far as the new shaft goes, I think I am really going to like it. I can definatly put a lot more spin on the ball with out driving the ball offline. I think I am going to go back to a sniper tip, just cause I like the feel of that tip now. Once I do that and practice up a bit everyone better watch out. LOL

Well I have been shooting with my I-2 for a few weeks now, and I really like it. I think I will really like the I-3 that I just got in. Truth be known I probably will never shoot with the I-1, but I guess you never know. Anyway I just wanted everyone to know that if you like McDermott, you will probably like these new shafts. (Well maybe not everyone, but I sure like it.)

Did you order all 3 shafts?

Yes I ordered all three due to the fact I got them so cheap that the third one was practically free. I only wanted the I-2 and I-3, but when you buy two get one for free why not take it right? They are all good shafts, but I like the I-3 the best because I like the taper and the small diameter of the tip. I think I am going to do some damage with it once I get used to it. 8)
