Hi.I'm new here.Quick question on a predator cue.I have a McDermott MG-22(silver) that I shoot with now.I really want to go to a 314 or Z shaft but am thinking of spending some more and getting a 4K2.How is the 4K2 compared to a P2? Is the P2 worth the extra cash or will the 4K2 be so much better then my McDermott that I'll be plenty happy?I have Simonis 860 coming for my Brunswick in my basement bar($350 installed) and wouldnt mind saving some cash.Heres some pics of my pool room if you want to see it. Thanks and I love the site-

That's an awesome room cdoo.
I don't think that the 4K2 (or any other 4K) will play differently then your cue with a Predator shaft, it may feel a bit different because of the balance point and the joint type but it'll have the same playability, So if you like the looks of your McDermott and the feel of the joint (softer hit then the Predator metal joint) and it's in a good condition then you should consider just getting a Predator shaft for it.
The P2 has a stiffer hit then the 4K cues because of the laminated butt.
BTW that is a cool room you got over there, if I had something like that I would probably never leave the house.... :?

That ROOM IS AWESOME.
However, I digress. Both cues will play the same, just feel different. Go feel the 4k at a dealer, if you like the diameter and all then go for it, however, if you dont ever see yourself parting with the McD then get a predator shaft for it.

Zach, you're saying exactly what I'm saying....
leave that pipe alone...

Yea,I was going to just get the 314 or Z shaft for my McDermott but I think I really want the 4K2 for the extra $200($200 for a Z shaft or $400 for the 4K2)Then I can sell my McDermott MG22 to someone and recoupe a little cash back. Thanks for your help and the nice words about my pool/bar room.

The P2 especially with a Z will be like nothing you've ever played with, they are a few bucks more, but worth every penny. I've played with cues ranging from Joss West to Players to Scon, Schuler, Viscotti, Mc D, you name it, but the best hands down is the P2 w/ a Z shaft.

Hi,
I have both 4k2(19) and P2 LCM(no wrap)(18.5) and both shafts Z and 314. At first I didn't like the Z-shaft but that's just because I could not use it. Now the z is my favorite shaft and P2 my choice for the cue. The feel of P2 is much nicer, it seems to shoot straighter. The 4K2 has more buzz and I can feel the joint more, it is still a very nice cue. My search for cues is over now, P2 all the way!

All ads aside though. This is a personal decision. You need to try these cues out yourself and decide what works best for you. Try cues from different manufacturers as well. What will work best for you is what you feel the most comfortable with.
This is not a dis on Predator or their products as I currently shoot with a Z-shaft and love it. But I have seen people attempt to shoot with a Z-shaft and not be able to adjust to it.
