View Full Version : Proper Cue Alignment
Any has a diagram as to properly align the cue and yourself..Sometime I find myself to over or under align my cue and myself to the target ball.
Proper Alignment of the cue and the body is very important but what is the proper way???? not all of us are built the same and we all have our own limitation of our body mechanics, so different alignment may be better for one and a different alignment will be better for the other.
A good cue and body alignments comes from good billiard basics and fundamentals, if you think that you have a problem with cue and body alignment then you should review your basics, if you approach the shot the right way and get into position with the right stance and grip then your alignment should be perfect.
Since not all of us are the same, we can take the common stance, grip and aiming method and alter it a bit to fit us the best way.
In the picture bellow you'll see the common "correct" and "good" stance and grip, if you follow these then you'll probably be able to align yourself and the cue better, if you feel you have to change something then go a head, just note the difference in results and determine what is best for you.
Hey, thanks these pictures do help alot. I wasnt quite sure where my foot was suppose face. I dont think my foot was properly facing at the right direction at times, therefore, causing the aim of the cue and body akward.

I would like to comment on the face the shot pose.
I face the shot using a classic snooker stance.
It's ok to face the shot, just don't do it as illustrated in photo #10.
