I have been researching Predator cues for sometime now and I think I have made my choice. Anyone out there playing the 3K1? Comments?
Thanks,
Cory

I have been shooting with a 2K1 for a while now. It is a great cue! Identical, in looks to the 3K1, with the exception of the 3K1 having a Unilock joint vs. the 2K1's 5/16 x 14 joint. Beautiful cue and I don't think you can go wrong..maybe someone can expand on what the Unilock joint will do to the hit of the cue.
Like Elvis, I've also got a 2K1. Personally, I don't know if the Uni-loc joint is worth the price difference between the 2K1 and the 3K1. I think Neil from Predator said that all Predator cues should play (almost) the same. With some extra money, the Predator2 might be a better consideration, as the butt is also spliced. Looks wise, nothing beats the 2K1, 3K1 and Predator2.

You got that right..I love the look of the black cue. A friend has a Predator 2 and I like the looks of my 2K1 better. The Predator 2 is not solid black..it has a kind of silver speck in it. I also like the silver rings the 2K1 has.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your quick feedback. I don't know what the "feel" effect difference would be between the two joints either.
I think I will go for the 3K1 this week. I can't wait to finally "break" away from those %#@& house cues!
Thanks again,
Cory
Cory, if you are playing with house cues now, you are going to be one very, very happy pool player once you get your hands on a 3k1. By the way, in my humble opinion, the UNI-LOC might hit a smidgen harder than the regular 14 thread joint. The difference is so small in fact that I would not even factor it in to your decision. Have a good one,

After an enlightening phone call, the definition of a couple of words used in the mid-west were spelled out for me.
I appreciate it guys, you really deserve an "Atta Boy!!".

Two more questions before I order...
1. What is the best way to test a cue's straightness -- roll on table, look down shaft?
2. How straight will the cue I buy from Seybert's be when I initially receive it -- perfect?
Thanks in advance,
Cory
The easiest way is to just roll it on a table and look at the roll.
Your cue will be very straight when you recieve it from us. Perfect is a hard thing to guarantee for a wood shaft, but you will be very happy with the roll. If not, before you chalk it, send it back and we will try again. Just because you are shopping on the internet does not mean you will not become a completely satisfied customer. (Especially with purchasing a Predator cue. People tend to come away very happy with their Predator purchase.)
Thanks for your interest,

Thanks Sid...
I will place an order on Monday...you be in? I have a few other questions about a case and some accessories.
Thanks again,
Cory

Everyone,
Thanks so much for your help and input! I ordered my cue on Monday and received it Wednesday. I did a "roll test" and it's perfect! I have never seen a straighter cue!
I played for a few hours Wed night and all I can say is WOW!!! It does hit quite a bit differently than the "bar cues" I have been using...it actually improved my aiming! I guess I have been aiming as if I had this cue all along!
