Has anybody played in the Saturday tourney at Pockets in Lansing Mi? What's the turn out/competition like? Is it any fun?

I haven't played there in quite a few years. The entry is free with a $5.00 buy in after a single elimination. $100 winner take all guaranteed.

I'm sure it's fun and good practice.

As far as the turn out, I don't have a clue. Give them a call. They will tell you. :)

The saturday tournament has changed a little from what is was at the start. The $100 is guaranteed only with enough players - 18+ Otherwise the prize might be $50 or $75 depending on numbers. Or no tournament considering the weather. Free entry and $5 buy-in on the one lose side. Top entry was 30 players and averaged 20 for the run of the tournament. Competition was keen, given a race to one in a match. George Kieselat was a winner several times and is no slouch. And he sometimes had trouble coming close to the winner's circle.
Thank you for your interest in this. The tournament was my baby
