Hello Jim,
We finally got a post on the Lucasi line. :D I play with a Lucasi L-2015 and a Predator 314 shaft. I love the cue as it has one of the most solid hits of any cue I have used. With the 314 shaft the entire cue is very stiff and therefore deflection is not an issue. I also like the uni-loc joints as they are quick to assemble. For the price, I don't think you will find a better cue :!: I also have a Lucasi jump cue and it works great also. There is rarely a safety that I can not get to the object ball. There are a lot of people who stay away from the Lucasi line because ther are not made in America. But the price compared to say the Schon line is much cheaper. And to me the quality of the cue is just as good.

I had been looking at Lucasi for a while but when I actually got to look at one up close the points were not even and you could run your finger over the cue and feel the silver ringwork in the butt of the cue. I know they have a very very good price point but I was just too picky to bring myself to get one. I have only been in the presence of a couple Lucasi's but has anyone else noticed this? I have heard good things about how they hit.

I have a Lucasi Sneaky Pete that I break with, and now and then shoot a couple of shots with. The cue is well made and shoots fine, but it hardly compares to my Schons. For the money, the Lucasi is a nice cue, but for critical shots, I prefer a stiffer hit that my Schons deliver.

hi  i own a lucasi L-2002 and am very pleased with way it feels on soft or power shots. the uniloc joint is second to none. Not to impressed with finnish around beauty rings you can feel the edges of the rings but you do not notice it when playing only on close inspection. going to buy a lucasi jump break cue to match because of the feel. Not saying its the best cue available but it suits my needs just fine.

 Best cue i have ever owned
I play with Lucasi. With the lucasi shaft I rate it as a fair cue, about as good as viking and Mcdermot, etc. I use a predator shaft on the Lucasi, however. The 314 matches the cue perfectly, and with it, it delivers a very good hit (I've let a amature-going professional cuemake hit with it with the 314 on it, and he said that the hit was excelent, unbelievable for the price). The quality of the cue is just fine with me. If you want the best hit for the $, get the cheapest Lucasi and buy a unilock predator shaft to go with it from Seyberts. You'll get a hit that is comparable to the best cues on the market for around $300.

I purchased a LSS11  It is a very nice looking cue...And that is about all i can say positive about it..The ferrule has already cracked on one of the shafts (3 months old) and the ring can be felt easily..And the hit of the cue has a lot to be desired.. Played with cheaper Meucci's that have a better hit..Only good thing that happened is i did get it fairly cheap..Anyone in need of a cue...LoL

I've owned my Lucasi for about 3 years, they were very new to the market when i purchased one and i was not sure what to expect. I break with this cue all the time - which i realize is a no-no to anyone who values their cue's lifespan, but it gives such a solid hit - much better than my sneaky-pete. The only thing i don't care for is the fact that the art work is computer generated, so it loses a certain "authentic" touch, but it's still a nice looking cue nonetheless.
I do recommend them, but i would certainly shop at more than one place to find the right one. :)

i used a lucasi for several years... then i had the opportunity to shoot with my friends predator :D . Needless to say i sold the lucasi and am gonna buy a pred2 from seyberts, just as soon as they come in that is :P
I've been shooting with a Lucasi for about 2 years. I did own a fantastic 15 year old Schon, but when my car got totaled so did my stick. Without insurance (no homeowners or renters either) I was heartbroken. I am one of the editors of a pool magazine, and although I love my job, it doesn't pay real well! One of our readers took pity on me & GAVE me his old Lucasi when he bought a new Predator (thanks again Mike!) :P I couldn't believe how much like my Schon it hit! I love it, & I get a lot of comments on how great it looks, too! The quality of workmanship is exceptional, and the way it hits is supurb. I would recommend one to anyone!
I don't know how to do this, so the above comment about Lucasi cues was listed as annonymous. I am proud of my Lucasi, & would never want anyone to think I was ashamed to say so. Since I was logged in, I thought that the site would add my personal info, but since it didn't, I will :!: My name is Sandy and my email is insideenglish2@msn.com (in case anyone wants to ask more about my stick). Lucasi cues are GREAT!
I just got a 2010, I have no idea why. I have since shined up my Meucci 9712 with it's three red-dot shafts to sell and my old MO 3 is going to rest in it's case. The 2010 is perfectly made, has a solid, predictable hit, and has a more forward balance that really helps when shooting open bridges or off the rail. Get one.
i just get a new lucasi cue l-E1, actually is my first pool stick....it feel totaly different .... feel like ....DOOM... time to play :P
lucasi is the best cue that you can get in the price 8O
I own both lucasi model hi and low but the low end got a bester shaft so i guest lucasi don't care about the shaft that they make for their cue

I own 2 cues. A Meucci and a Lucasi. I ordered the Meucci with specifics to weight and shaft diam. I picked up the Lucasi sneaky pete on ebay for 60 bucks to use as just a break cue. The Meucci spends most of it's time in the case wearing joint protectors. :| I'm crazy about my Lucasi. For the price they ask, you can't go wrong.
I've owned two Lucasi cues. I had a 2004, which I liked enough that I soon bought a 2010 with the Uni-Loc joint. I used it for a year, then on a whim tried a Predator 3k-1. My Lucasi was sold on eBay about a week later. While I really thought the Lucasi was a great cue (one of my teammates now has my 2004), the Predator was better for my game.

I think Lucasi definitely has the best quality for the money.
Their designs are good and they stand behind their product.
How does one determine what "model" one has? I bought one last night at a pool hall, because I really liked it. But I havent been able to find any matches on the web. I found a thread about older models, but the links didnt work. It's "signed" Buddy Hall and has XXIII on the butt. Beatuiful woods, inlays, and ring work. Or is every stick different? Aren't parts handmade? -Jim.

Another dags on the forum? What a cool handle and welcome to the forum.
As for low quality, mass produced cues such as Lucasi, made over seas by a faceless corporation that probalbly in all liklehood is only concerned only about the bottom line, well I've had my say on that more than once.

I'ts not that I will not buy non Americian. Sometimes there is no choice and some times American made offerings don't suit my needs. Given a choice I will buy American and I am willing to pay a little more if need be.
I have a L 2007 and its by far the best ive shot with.

I think alot of you are confusing the Roman Numeral on the butt of a Lucasi for a model or something. From what I have learned, the numeral is used during the production run to keep track of the cues. I used to think it was the weight of the cue. Just there for production purposes.

I'm not sure what the Roman numerals are for. If it is for the weight of the cue, then mine is right...XIX...19oz. That is what my cue is/was. However, XII wouldn't make much sense...12oz cue. That is pretty light.
I am not sure what model my cue is. I can't remember. I think it is an L-D something or other. I'm not sure how I can find out.

My Lucasi cue looks a lot like the L-D1 except that mine has floating points on the forearm. Would anyone know what model it is?
why don't you post a picture of it

I bought a Lucasi L2000SP sneaky pete with the intent of buying a Predator shaft for it. I haven't yet found the funds to buy the shaft(s) but I have played with it quite a bit.
With the stock shaft, it has a good hit and handles and performs well. With the Z-shaft from my Predator 3K4, the hit is beautiful and the performance is superb. In fact, the Z-shaft on my Lucasi outperforms the same Z-shaft on the 3K4. It looks a bit funny with the black collar and silver ring but it shoots well. Someday I will get the proper shaft for it; a Z-shaft with no collar at all.
The sneaky pete is not very ornate but it is well made and looks good. I am thinking of having a local cuemaker remove the mother of pearl dots on the base of the points and replace them with ivory. I think it will make it distinctive looking.
I have a Lucasi L-E40. It's a beautiful cue with lots of well crafted inlays. Very solid hit. I highly recommend it.
Whatever happened to eric the poolhustler anyway?

Hi. I own an LE27. I was struggling with the weight (21oz), so I took the 3 oz bolt out of the butt and it seemed like a totally different cue. I never looked back since then. I've tried other comparatively-priced cues (Viking, Cuetec, J&J, Schmelke), but Lucasi feels the best balanced for me.
It is a very nice cue - design, balance and all. I was contemplating about getting a 314^2 shaft for it.

I like mine so far! Fit and finish are better than many more expensive cues I considered. I would guess they upped their QC in the several years since this thread was started.

i own an L-D8 and slapped a predator 314² shaft on it, and it feels just like a predator. sadly, i never bothered to play it with the standard shaft it came with cuz i ordered my pred shaft with it. it just sits in my case. i'll try it some day...

Have 2-and one on the way--Lucasi cues that is--:D
If one can only shoot with only 1 cue at a time--why would a person want or need more than one cue??--My wife asked me a year ago:confused3:??
Well i knew if i couldn't come up a really good answer-especially before the news hit that a new cue was on the way --the nIc "Sticks" could soon become "lumps" by my shooting buddies--now my wife is certainly no dummie--but doesn't shoot pool-in that fact alone layed the answer to my prayers-----with proper timing especially with a sincere expression--came these words " True that i can only shoot with 1 cue at a time--just like you can only wear one pair of shoes at one time--" You have several pairs of shoes by the same MFG--knowing your shopping habits --you found good value as well as quality-" -- follow quickly with a big hug!!
Slowly walk away as if the perfect answer was given--8-)
Bottom line--Been shooting with a Lucasi cue for a while now--the 09 arrived--awesome--might be a while before i get another tho--no room due to all these pairs of ladies shoes showing up by the truckload--:ahhhhh:

I own a Lucasi LE65 with the lucasi shaft turned down to 12mm with a Sniper tip.I really like the solid feel of the Lucasi.

I picked up a Lucasi LE-T from Seyberts. I noticed they dont have them on the website anymore though. Also had them put a Moori Quick tip on it. The tip has finally worn down enough for me to warrant replacing it, but I love the Quick tip.
Cue plays great for the money and anyone that has shot with it is amazed how it feels for under $200.

Does anyone here know if there is any difference in terms of the shaft for the Lucasi Hybrid vs. the Lucasi LP70? My lucasi hybrid has a somewhat gloss finish over the wood, while the LP70 only has gloss on half of it. I was wondering if maybe it is a replica or something because for some reason it is not as accurate as my lucasi hybrid.
Also, the rubber piece is coming off the butt of the cue on the LP70 vs. the Hybrid (which is tightly attached).
Mfg. defect or that is the way it is supposed to be?

Angela, the shaft of the Hybrid models is different than the older ones, it has different technology in it.
I have a lucasi LE- 56 cue, i've had it for almost a year now and it's a good hitting cue, definetly a good bargain (got it for 300$). Shaft has some deflection so i upgraded it with a 314-2 shaft and honestly it hits just like any predator (most of my friends have predator cues , including 5K series, P2, Blak Series) and the feeling is quite the same... very solid. I especialy like this cue also because of it's looks, i'll always consider this when buying a cue, not only performance. (of course performance comes first). So, i have a cue which costs 500$, looks better than a 700$ P2 and hits as good as a 1000$ Black Series... I would sincerely recommend this cue and any of the LE series. (Also the new Hybrid cues are very cool but i don't like the looks :))).
Still my favourite cuemaker will remain Bear (the one which Bustamante plays with). That with a 314 shaft and you-ve got the ultimate playing cue no doubt about it. Perfeclty balanced and incredible feel. A bit expesive though for high-end models.
Any cue with a Predator shaft will play just the same, the playability comes from the shaft so if the shaft is the same the butt doesn't matter...
The butt does matter when it comes to feel but if you take two butts with the same weight, balance point and joint type and put the same shaft you will not feel the difference between them...
Bear cues are OEM cues made by Falcon for the European market... so basically if you take any Falcon cue it'll play just like a Bear.
Falcon also used to produce the Predator butts until the 4K series. The first lines up until the 2K came with a 5/16x14 joint pin (like Falcons and Bears) and besides the double pressed Irish linen they felt just like the Falcons and Bears when playing with the same shaft.
Bear have some nice designs but for the money (the cost of the higher priced cues) I rather get a Schon!

I like the designs Lucasi has. There are quite a few I'd love to have, but I settled on the L-E21 and had to order it. Sweet looking, love the color contrast of the woods, and its quite similar in contrast as my L-ET, which the g/f will now get to play with. I just wish Seyberts had it.
Here's a pic!
I've been playing with a Luacsi as well for the last few months, I only got it because I liked its design but after I fitted a Z² shaft on it, it became my main player....

That looks nice man!
Btw, I got a call from the place I ordered it...no longer produced. So the LE21 is made no more.
Anyone get a whiff of the new Lucasi Hybrid Fusion cues?
