I'm going to play in an Amateur Snooker tournament that is starting tonight, first place wins a trip to the world snooker championship in england....
I've never comteted in a snooker event, and I've never played a serious game of snooker, more like a game here and there..... I practiced a bit in the last few days, I'll tell you those tiny pockets are hard :!: :!:
But after playing on that table, playing 9ball is easier then ever....
Anyway, wish me luck 8)

at least I have a chance to use my snooker cue..... 8O

You need good form, technique and a straight stroke. But if you pull it off successfully it is the sweetest feeling.

Yes it is!!!
it's so hard to get a good draw with these small balls and slow cloth....

Get a running start at it, a la Happy Gilmore.

good safety play, that's the only way I'll be able to beat a snooker player in his game, and not having to hit a rail makes it soooo easy

Well I lost....
The tournament was a double elimination which is not common to snooker tournaments which was fun, we played on 10ft. tables with 6 reds, races to 3, I was shooting very well but still lost twice 3-2, in both matches I was shooting better the my opponent but it was not enough, I guess the lack of experience in this game is what beat me, I was up 2-1 in the first match and 2-0 in the second match and in both cases I needed to pocket one more ball, the pink - 6 in both matches and missed it twice.... damn tight pockets...
But still it was fun, people that saw me play could not belive me when I said that I've never played snooker and that it was my first tournament.
Bottom line, although I lost, I'm happy with the level of play I showed.

I'm going back to 9ball..... 8)

I think that if I could/would bring the level of focus I had and the accuracy of my shot to the pool table, I'll be invincible.......
I made some really nice shots on that table

A quote from Vince Lombardi:
Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all time thing. You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit.

The right thing to do is get back in there and win! You'll get em next time Skor!
