I can't understand people. Why would people want to spend thousands of dollars on a fancy well made cues and replaced them with a Predator's shafts? What's the logic to this? Arn't you not defeating your own purpose? If you want to use a 314 or Z shaft, get yourself a Predator's cue where you can ascertain the full quality of owning and playing with Predator's technology. Conversely, the same with Schon's cues.

$600 Schon cue and $3000 Schon cue both have the same shaft and if they weight the same and have the same balance point they will play very close to each other. The difference between the two is the art work not the playability BUT changing the shaft and you will change the playability and still keep the great art work.

Are you serious? If you dont understand why people buy a pretty cue and then put a shaft on it for play performance then I think youre missing the picture. Heaven forbid I want my XXXX brand cue that is gorgeous to play as good as it looks. GAH!

Unfortunately though, this is not the case... :?

A guy brought in a Balabushka that he just bought for $26k and had Predator shafts fitted to it, I thought he was NUTS. The cue looked like it was brand new even though it was almost 30 years old, he was some dentist or something from Ponte Vedra.

He actually bought 2 of them for $40k, the other one wasn't as fancy as the one he brought in. As expensive and nice as Balabushka's are they are still outdated in technology and performance, the gentleman wanted the best of both worlds.

That is awesome though really! The guy has a taste for history as well as new technology. :)
