Harden Chalks, Expiration Date?

I have been using Masters and Triangle chalks and I notice some chalks are so hard that it won't apply, no matter how hard you try.. Is there an expiriation date on chalks?? Are there any softer chalks out there?

The problem could be with your tip. Check my response in your other post. If not, just buy some more chalk. It's not that expensive.

Chalk will dry out if you keep it in a dry climate, keep it humid and you should have no problems. The same goes with tips, leather hardens over time unless you oil it.
