Hi gus, There is a new cue from McDermott. The intimidator. It is not for everyone, but definately worth the look.

I have a 1996 McDermott catalog that has that cue in it. I think it went for $150,000 in that time as well.

I think its ugly. Im not sure Id pay $100 for it if I had to keep it. If I could sell it for a profit, well thats different.

It was in the "Hand of the Masters" calendar in like 1996, I still have it at home. The bad thing is that you would slice your arm open if you tried to play with it and it weighs like 9 pounds!! You would need to be Ahhnold to be able to play a game with it, armor and all.

This makes me even more disappointed in McDermott. They have a great feeling cue and I will agree with that all day, but how about spending some money on making something more attractive (under 15 grand) than making something for the fans of Zena Warrior Princess (no offense).

Does this qualify for return if I don't like it after I play a couple games?

Will they pay for the surgical re-attachment of your arm when you slice it off when shooting?

lol..bro comeon....u consider this a cue?

skor
04-04-2007, 12:47 PM
no, I consider it a piece of art inspired by a war instrument and pool cues (which are the pool player's weapon....) made by a pool cue manufacturer, call it a tribute to the warriors of the game...

this is something that you hang up and not play with... BTW check it's specs... it's really heavy (and sharp) it was never ment to be used as a pool cue.

Yeah, and what's up when you buy a $75,000+ Balabushka? You won't slice your arm open or slice the cloth on the table, you can play with it or whatever you want but tell me: would you play with a $75,000 Balabushka? That's a piece of art and a (perhaps bigger) milestone in pool just like that Intimidator and I think that you wouldn't play with neither.

Thanks Skor for saying what we all were thinking!

That cue is definitely a great tribute to our"weapons" and I'm glad someone could excape the technical part of the game long enough to create such a piece of art. Not that I would buy one, but that's probably why they charge 150k... so only someone that truly appreciates it enough to buy it will keep the artistic aspect of the game alive in some way.

I'd like to see a few more "tributes" to the game we all enjoy, just slightly more affordable 8O

I've got: teach your children, friends or anyone else to play pool - that's the best thing you can do ;o)

Around here, in Hungary finally the Hungarian Billiards Association is really on edge to get as many people involved and to organise good competitions and championships - both for amateurs and for pros.
