My buddys got one. I dont like it. The shafts was VERY thick over 14mm and the handle was very thick as well. I couldnt hold it comfortably. Ive never tried the X breaker though.

I have the stinger j/b sneaky pete. I think the shaft is 13mm, it feels the same as my stock Viking (size wise). The tip is REALLY hard and does provide a very hard hit. I'm not the best at breaking (regardless of cue) but I have had this about a month and it is improving my break steadily.

As for the build, the quality seems great and I believe the tip has a lifetime warranty. The cue feels like it is 19oz or so (maybe slightly lighter). The tip is great for jumping and I have had a lot of success with the jump portion. Overall it seems like a great j/b cue but I haven't tried any of the competitors myself.

if u wuld ask me i am not happy with the stinger i definatly think the BK2 or sledgehammer is more consistant and moreover the finish is very bad when compared with the sledgehammer or BK

This topic has been beat to death in other posts but one thing that I haven't seen discussed are the price points. The Bk2 and Sledge are 50%+ more expensive than the Stinger.

Not to say that this will make a difference to everyone, but it's worth pointing out. 8)

Sorry... I thought of one more thing :D

The fact that the Bk2 and Sledge both have the names in bold across the forearm REALLY turn me off. I guess I'm a little old school but I do love the traditional look of some of the other break cues. I would suggest that these companies offer to have the name optional. I do understand that it's great advertising but I can take care of the advertising verbally instead of having a flashy name on the cue.

Just the opinion of one consumer...

The shafts was VERY thick over 14mm

While I am not familiar with this particular cue it would surprise me that they would try to market a cue that doesn't meet BCA specs.

Dags, I felt the same way. It probably isnt but it feels very thick and has a VERY stiff taper.

I broke out the tools (a small caliper) this morning to do some testing on the stinger shaft. My Stinger is just a hair over 13mm. Using the same tools I was able to test my Viking as well which I know was bought as 13mm and this is still correct, slightly under due to sanding. I'm not disputing that the one you tried was over 14mm but the one that I have isn't. I'm not sure if there is difference in some of their shafts?

A new generation X Breaker has just been released. It features a very cool looking thing on the bumper. They call it the energy maXimizer. Some discussion are avaliable on azbilliards.com, and pictures are also avaliable on the X Breaker site.

I am thinking of getting a new X Breaker in Valley Forge.
