Hi,

I am currently shopping for my first quality cue. I have read a lot about cues in the past few months, and I believe that Predator is the make for me. I am looking at the 3K1 and the 3K3. Other than the obvious cosmetic differences, is there any playability difference? I assume that they would play the same being in the same family. I really like the looks of the 3K3, but I don't feel the $ difference is worthwhile to me as an advanced beginner for just looks.

Thanks in advance,

Cory

The shafts on all of our cues are the same, with the exception of the BK break cue, so they will all perform the same.

You don't need to spend more money to get better performance from our cues, which is nice for everyone.

Basically you spend more money on the looks and the work that is put into the cue.

Hope this helps!

Neil,

Thanks so much for the instant reply...that's what I figured -- the shaft is the most important part. I really like the looks and the reputation of your cues. I think I will start out with a 19 oz, Irish Linen wrap and a Moori Medium tip...thoughts? What is the standard tip curve -- nickel or dime? I know these are all subjective, just wanted a manufacturer's opinions.

The dime radius on the tip produces about 7-12% less deflection that a nickel radius.

I don't prefer a linen wrap, but many people like the one that we provide.

The Moori tip is really the way to go: less maintenance, better feedback, unmatched consistency are all qualities that these tips have.

Wow Cory, I read your post and had to laugh. I was torn between the 2K1 and 2K3..I ended up getting the 2K1 (which is identical to the 3K1 except for no Unilock joint I believe) and I think you will be very happy with Predator cues. I put a Talisman Pro Medium tip on mine and love it.

Also, the highly pressed linen wrap is great..good feel when shooting

Elvis,

Thanks for the info...I am leaning towards the 3K1...I really like the sleek all-black look. From what I have read, the Moori and Talisman Pro are very similar.

I agree with the Irish Linen...I much prefer it over no wrap or leather.

Thanks again...and what tip radius are you using -- nickel, dime?

I have always used nickel radius..it works for me..never tried to change either..with the Talisman tip I do not do hardly any maintenance at all..use a tip pik every once in a while very lightly. I break with my shooting cue as well..haven't had a problem so far
