Hi Sid,

Have a question for you - can a cue with 5/16 x 14 joint be converted into a radial pin joint?
By the way some happy news - wonder if you remembered that Predator shaft that I had you tapped to receive a radial pin back in March, well it helped in winning a national tournament a few days ago (thought your cue guy would like to know).

It can be done. The insert will have to be removed. The whole has to be plugged up with a threaded wood or synthetic material then threaded.
My local cuemaker did mine. He took the brass insert out, bored the hole a little bigger. Threaded it then inserted a delrin piece, then drilled and threaded the delrin to fit a Southwest type pin. It fits perfectly.
But, my local cuemaker is the only person I know who doesn't use tap for his threads.
