View Full Version : Stinger vs Fury J/B

I'm looking into getting another break cue. Currently I'm breaking with a Mezz Powerbreak and it has been working ok. My break had been pretty poor and I worked with the Mezz for about a year and have gotten a good solid break stroke.

I don't have a jump cue and don't really want to carry a seperate jump cue since I wouldn't use it often. Between the Jerico Stinger and the Fury J/B what would you guys recommend? Are there any of you out there that has used both?

I like the Stinger more personally. But I like my BK more than all of them except the Mezz PBII.

I've tried the Fury and I think that it's the best bang for the buck cue when talking about a jump/break cue.
I never tried the Stinger but if you'll send me one, I promise to post my opinion on it...

just got my fury, i really like it...scuffed the tip slightly with a willard shaper to aid in chalk retention. used an old j&j with a shaft from another 5/16x18 with a hard water buffalo used to get good spreads but lucky to sink a ball. with the fury, i am routinely getting 1-2 balls and ocasionally 5 or 6 and never sewered or put the cue ball off the table. this is all from the center of the breakline, with a level cue/centerball hit. other's on my team have used it with similar results

Just a little update: the other day was the first time i tried jumping with it, after a friend goaded me, have never been able to jump anything before, i set up the cue ball, the problem ball, & object ball along the short rail with the cue ball 1and a 1/2 balls from the problem ball and put the object ball a full ball outside the jaws. To my surprise, not only did i clear the problem ball, I pocketed the object ball and had good draw on the cue ball. I was able to replicate this 9 times out of 10...i like this cue

I've just ordered a Fury Jump/Break. One of the better shooters in my local league got one and before long EVERYONE was watching him break. It sounded like a shotgun going off and 2-3-4 balls were flying in the pockets every time. I think I'm the 3rd or 4th one in the league to order one!

I don't have any long term exposure to one so I can't comment on the durability.

For the price, I don't think there is a better Jump/Break around.

I went thru 4 jump/break cues before I got the Fury j/b.....The Fury does the job...Both breaking and jumping...I don't use my Frog anymore since I got the Fury.. Two of my friends tried my cue for breaking and both ordered one because they loved it....Now one more friend is ordering one because they are great and probably the least expensive one also....I love mine.....
