Looking to buy a new jump. Which do you suggest?

Right about now, I am loving my Bunjee Jumper... I can jump with ease from one ball away using the dart stroke, and from about 2 balls away, but with greater accuracy, using the pendulum stroke.

Personally, I really like my Stealth jump cue. It comes in 3 pieces in case you want it longer or shorter depending on the length of the jump.

Absolutely. I own a Lucasi jump cue which is similar to the Bungee. It even has the same type joint. After trying with minimal success with my jump break cue I finally broke down and bought a dedicated jump cue. It was amazing the difference that it made. My JB has been a pretty decent break cue but didn't jump worth a darn. I personally don't know anything about the jacoby or the mezz, other than there are a couple of the regulars here that use them. Maybe they will join in on this. my recommendation will be similiar to most others around here though. Get a cue to do the job you want it to do. Because multi-purpose cues are going to sacrifice one aspect over the other. I don't know about you, but that wasn't good enough for me, and I learned that one the hard way.

I never tried the Jacoby so I really can't say anything about it.
I've tried the bungee and the lucasi, I think that the lucasi jumps better.
I had a nameless jump cue that jumped even better then both bungee and lucasi, but this guy at the pool hall really wanted it, so I sold it to him and I got the Mezz Air Shooter that jumps better then the above.
I've also tried a custom Jump cue made by the father of Ralf Soquet and it jumps very well.

I have owned a few jump cues.

Lucasi
Showcase Billiards Jumster
Jacoby
Mezz Airshooter

I sold the Lucasi in favor of the Jumster(which now has a bunjee tip.) I recently purchased a Jacoby after reading everyone(well almost everyone) rave about this jump cue. The day before I was to receive the Jacoby I was fortunate enough to try out the Mezz of a fellow pool player. He could say only good things about the cue & after I tried it a few times, I was of the same opinion.

I ordered a Mezz a couple days later & am very happy with it's jump-ability :)

IMO take a good look at the Showcase Jumster & Mezz Airshooter.

I got the mezz ,but I had to send it back cause it had a ding in it. Also, the cue looks black but its not , its maple with a dark charcoal/black stain...if that matters to anyone

Skor and Fore Rail,
Is the jumping difference between Lucassi and Mezz worth tripple price for you? Just would like to know your opinion.
P.S. I agree that Lucassi jumps better than Bunjee. I owned both some time ago.

this is me being lazy and not wanting to write the same thing again:

I had a nameless jump cue that jumped even better then both bungee and lucasi, but this guy at the pool hall really wanted it, so I sold it to him and I got the Mezz Air Shooter

The brandless jump cue I had worked great for me, but this guy wanted it so bad and he payed me it's full price regardless of the big chank of finish that chiped of it's butt (droped it :? ) that I couldn't say no to him....
so I had to get me a new jump cue.... I went with the mezz because it looked like a great jump cue, I liked the metal ferrule and that wooden joint.... turned out to be a really great cue. It also goes great as a set with the Mezz break cue that I got at the same time
If your not into spending too much $$$ on a jump cue (understandable) I think that the Lucasi will work fine for you.

Thanks skor!
Yeap, it works. I've been using Lucassi jump cue for about 3 years and I'm quite happy with it. I don't really like metal ferulle and time-consuming wooden joint I just was curious of Mezz extra jumping ability over Lucassi. :)

Imo both cues will perform the jump shot adequately. The difference I have found is the Mezz gives me more control, both during and after the jump. I can control the distance of the shot & somewhat(work in progress) impart the spin needed to control the cue ball after the shot.

The cue works the best for me & my stroke out of the other jump sticks I have tried.

Hey Skor,

You said you had the Mezz Break Cue.

Is it the Power Break 2??

If so do you like it??

Do you think it is better then the new Predator BK2??

Thanks

No mine is the first Power Break
I don't like the idea of the shorter butt, it limits the grip options.
I haven't tried the BK2 so I can't say anything about it.
