Hello,
I'm looking for a new break cue to replace my old Cuetec Jump/Break cue but I can't choose between 3(4) cues :
- Predator BK (maybe the BK2 if it's released one day) : http://www.seyberts.com/pool_cues/cue.php?model_number=PCBKNW
- The same Predator BK with phenolic ferrule + phenolic tip
- The famous Sledgehammer : http://www.seyberts.com/pool_cues/cue.php?model_number=HAMMAHNW
- The Stinger : http://www.seyberts.com/pool_cues/cue.php?model_number=STINGJBRW
I need a cue lighter than 19oz and with few defflection to get more speed and accuracy at break. My break is not very powerful but I try to have the same break and pocket the same ball at each time.
At first, I chose the Sledgehammer because of its phenolic ferrule but I tried a Predator and it was a very good experience (even if the cue I tried was too heavy for me).
A friend of mine told me about the Stinger and it appears it's one of the best cue for jumping (even if the break is the mot important point for me) ... And now, I'm lost !
Can you share with me your experiments about these cues ?
Thank you all !

I'm not sure that this is what you need, but if you are looking for a cue with less deflection and more power then the Predator BK cue is what you want to get.
If you're able to hit the cue ball dead center then a low deflection cue is not needed and the Mezz Power Break will offer you a very powerful break with less effort then most cues I've tried.

Hello !
Thank you for your answear !
If I want a lighter cue, that's mainly to improve my break  because I know it's too slow and not powerful enough for be efficient... I think I aim a good point of impact and I wanted to keep it but I want too to have a bigger hit on the cueball !
Just to know, when you say : "I'm not sure that this is what you need", what does it mean exactly ? If you have advices, tips for me, I'll take them all :D
About the Mezz, I don't know this cue : is-it sold by Seybert ?
Thank you again
I ment that I don't think that a low deflection cue is needed for a break cue, you are not supposed to apply any side spin on the break, so if you hit dead center then there is no deflecion so why pay a lot of money for a feature that is not required for the task :?
The BK cue might help those that can not find the center of the cue ball (it's not as easy as it sounds....) but I think that practicing on hitting the center will do your game good in any aspect of the game.
I agree on the weight issue, lighter is better, it will give you better control over the break, the feel and feedback from the cue will be better and the overall break will be better.
As far as I know, Seyberts do not have Mezz cues.

I understand...
Actually, I'm not sure I find the exact center of the cueball each time : my break is constant (I always pocket the same balls in the same holes but not each time) but the results are not very good especially about the CB : I control it as I wish only 1/10 time... That's why I thought that I was because of the deflection... but I'm maybe wrong :?

I agree. That's why I would buy (later because of the price !) a 314 shaft for my playing cue to take the more chance on my side...

To test your contact point on the break 10 times in a row. The goal of this test is to hit the front ball head on and bring the cue ball straight back about 12 inches. If you can do this your stroke and contact point is very very good.
You may want to decide on a separate break cue and jump cue. When purchasing get the best for each of the types of shots. Anytime you get a combo item you take the risk of sacrificing something in one or both of the key points or what you want. The only drawback of separate cues is having a case to accommodate both cues.
Hope this helps.
PS: I use a Cuetec jump/break cue and also have a Bunjee jump cue. Phenolic tips on both.

Get the cue that hits the rack the hardest. Deflection be damned. The break is the one shot that you set up the same time after time. Even if you like to put english on the cue ball the resulting deflection should be accounted for because you have shot an identical shot enough that any compensation needed for squirt has been taken into account.

Problem is, this forum is first and foremost a support forum for Seyberts customers. Requiring users to register makes it a couple steps more difficult for someone to get support, which is one of those things everyone wants to be easy...
However, most people know better than to put any stock into someone anonymous posters rants, raves, suggestions, etc.

Anybody notice that the original poster is from Lyon? And then our guest comes on and panders to him using a French pro? Things like that is why I avoid salesmen like the plague when I am thinking about purchasing a product. I can't count the number of salesman who have blown a sale buy trying to "sell" me. Especially when I was already sold on their product anyway. I would just go somewhere else and buy the same product, for the same amount or maybe even a little more, from someone who was a little more polite.

LOL. i am totally the same way. i often find myself avoiding stores whose salespeople work on commission simply because i know i'll be constantly hasstled by pushy salespeople.

Someone told me he does the same on AzBilliards. He pimps his product out and dosent even pay the guy running the site for a banner or something. Poor business. It will hurt him in the long run.

I am not saying this formum is predator bias because I don't think it is and I have not read any posts that have said predator is the best and everything else sucks, I think everyone here is fair (except for... Master S...not to mentition any names), but isn't Seyberts the #1 Predator dealer in the world or something? So that could be why there are a lot of posts for Predator.
