Hey out there! Waiting on my delivery from Seyberts of my JP01 (break) and my JP06 (shoot). Starting to get antsy about the feel and hit. Read up for hours on all brands looking for a stiff hit by a name I could trust at a decent price, and these are the cues I got. I have gotten very comfortable playing with a Dufferin house cue as well as a Falcon one piece; should I expect the same hit? I did overlook the importance of the joint and am concerned I might end up with a whippy cue. Thanks, Shaun.
Pechauer cues have a stiff feel and hit

Scott from Pechauer replied to me overnight! That's customer service! His info was valuable but did not entirely sell me on the stiffness. Basically, he said they were made stiffer up to 8 years ago due to the thickness of the taper. Called his product "middle of the road to a little above average" as far as stiffness goes. Said I could get thicker taper for a small fee through Seybert's; I'm gonna wait it out. Also sounds like the balance will be better than, but not the same, as what I'm used to.
For the sake of good inormation on this page, Scott pointed out that the joint does not affect the stiffness of the taper. Also said that the Falcon will now seem more front heavy and the Dufferin more back heavy. I already know this to be true after trying many friends' cues.
Hope this info helps others and please continue to leave notes on the hit, feel, or any issues you have had with your Pechauers. Shaun.

I am looking to get a Pechauer. I have never seen one anywhere around here to take a test shot. I have played w/ Dufferin, Meucci, Schon, Lucassi, and currently play w/ McDermott, (my favorite of this list). With the Schon, it had a 314 shaft. I am trying to get an idea of how the cue hits in comparrison to something I understand, listed above.
Meucci - solid but flexible
Schon - hard hit, but felt like "two-piece" cue...could not get used to.
Dufferin - great to have in car just in case I end up playing somewhere unexpectedly.
McDermott - feels like solid "one-piece" cue. very consistent.
Could someone please assist w/ this sort of comparison so I have an idea?

From all the cues you mentioned, Pechauer will feel more like the Schon then the others

The Schon I had was a CX series. The part I had a problem w/ is it always a ping sound and feel when hit ANY english at all. This is what I meant by feeling like "two-piece" cue. A sales rep from where I bought it told me the SLT series Schon would be hit differently. I'm looking for a nice cue that feels solid, and no "ping".
Thanks Skor for the info. Could you please compair to my experience w/ Schon? The Schon felt great, except the ping w/ english.

I had a chance to take couple shots w/ a nice Joss last night. Compared to my McD, it too had a slight ping sound when I did a draw shot, (no miscue). It did feel better to me than the Schon CX I had. It also had a harder hit than my McD.
Is the harder hit and ping due to the SS joint v/s wood-to-wood?

Ping (http://rfc.sunsite.dk/rfc/rfc2925.html) can be very useful.......

Well, I finally managed to find a place that has Pechauer cues, 45 min away. They gave me couple different cues to try. Of course, a new tip and chalk would help, but I was able to get an idea what Pec looks, hits and feels like.
Beautiful cue.
The Pec w/ implex joint had much softer hit than stainless. But the stainlessfelt very solid, but still harder hit than I'm used to.
...but, then again, acquiring the taste for a really good bourbon is more than worth letting go to try something new. I've been shooting w/ McD for long time.

oh, yeah, the ping wasn't nearly as bad as others I've tried. ...and felt like "one piece" cue.

Well, I finally broke down and ordered my Pechauer. The cue I tried had a different sound than I'm used to and a harder hit, but it felt solid. With a new tip and CHALK, (wasn't allowed to chalk "test" cue), I think I could get used the difference and put it to good use. But for now I'll have to be patient...Scott told me: "6 - 8 weeks." Picture: IV3, with point and inlay designs of PS14.
Well, when it does get here, I will give you all my review after giving it a few dozen games.
Thaks for your help guys. I appreciate your input.
