That shows your ignorance. Parker used the same marketing scheme as Wanderone did after The Hustler came out. You do know who Wanderone is don't you? He's called Minnesota Fats. Tevis himself said he never based Felson and Fats on any living person. It's not on some website of some guy trying to promote himself so you probably won't believe it anyway.

That doesn't prove anything but Eddie's knack for seizing an opening for self promotion. There is still nothing where Tevis said himself he based Felson on Parker.

I have watched the tape, as well as a Jimmy Reid tape, and my game has improved in two weeks. My list of shots that I did not have an exact idea of how to make, I can make all the time now.
Great Tapes!!
Griff do you think i could get a copy of "fast eddie parker's " video from you? Tx !
I remember reading positive reviews of it by several notable players. Regardless of the character impersonation controversy, Parker is apparently a good player and teacher. I've wanted to order the video. I should send a check tomorrow.
In the copy of The Color of Money I read, there was a quote from Tevis printed prominently on the page before the story started. He said that Fast Eddie and Minnesota Fats were completely fictional, the people who claim to be their inspiration notwithstanding. Some people have countered that Tevis claimed this because he didn't want to pay royalties to Wanderone and Parker. From what I've read about Tevis, I can't see that being the case. I don't know much about Parker, but take one look at Wanderone and tell me how much credibility he had.

I would like to buy this video and was wondering if it is any good and if you would get it.

I watched the tape and it has a lot of good instruction in it. "Fast Eddie" has a presentation style that can be rather irritating at times, but generally the tape was pretty good. It has much more crammed into it than most tapes do, it is about 2 hours long as opposed to most which are less than an hour.
BTW, "Fast Eddie" is now dead, he died sometime last year.
I got a copy today and just finished watching it. Excellent material. He starts from describing the components of a cue and goes all the way up to five-cushion kicks. He concludes with an interesting talk about the mental side of the game, complete with a demonstration of the subconscience's power over the body, and gives ideas for training your mind for success at the table. It was an outstanding effort and one of the best instructional videos I've seen. I learned a lot.

The Fast eddy Parker tape starts off really slow and boring as he give some basics about pool that most experinced pool players know about already. The tape gets really good later on, however, as Eddy shows 1,2,3,4 and 5 rail kick shots showing excellent systems for kicking including a well explained diamond system. He also shows several specialty shots that will have you making shots when you had no idea that the ball could be made in that situation.Several pool secrets of valuable information are revealed within this video.
This video is at least 20 years old and Fast Eddy Parker has passed away, so this video may be hard to find. It's a great piece of information and I highly reccomend it for all those aspiring to learn some shots that they otherwise don't know. RJ

What material is covered? What are the shots that you can now make?
Thanks
