Hi Sid,

does Viking make custom cues?
i mean custom as in a unique design that is produced in maybe one or two pieces for the person that intends to buy it? not in the general instances of changing pearl colour, stain colour etc.

if its possible, what is the indicative price range?

Thank you.

Viking addresses this issue at their corporate website. Go to customer support, then frequently asked questions, then general questions.

They mention a minimum price of $1000 for a custom cue.

Hi George, "Anonymous" said it right; that is a good question, and is answered on the Viking Cue website. If you'll pardon me for doing a little CYA, allow me to quote you the response my boss gave on the website. "Yes, but expect to pay a minimum of $1,000 as the proceass to go from concept to finished product is rather tedious and expensive. Computer (CAD?CAM) programming is $100 per hour. Materials & labor are also very expensive to make just one cue from a custom design. We are NOT able to make just one custom "decal" cue. " You'll find that the cost of doing one special order cue has to allow not only for the additional cost of the extra/different materials, but the loss of regular production time as well. A guy on the line can produce a great deal of product in a day if he's working on standard models that he normally produces all day long. But ask that guy to spend his day walking a custom cue through the process, and the result is a major loss of normally produced product.
