Well I received my cloth yesterday, and as soon as I walked in the door I opened up the box. The Electric Blue is what I ordered, and that's what I got! It is a little less electric than some I have seen, but I much prefer this. It is not as vibrant. So it does not stand out, rather it blends..

As for the material itself, very good stuff. No flaws, just great stuff!

As I laid it down on the table, I noticed the two sides were different. One was shiny and smooth, the other was dull and more felt like. (Note: Simonis is not felt.) So a quick search on the Internet and I found some instructions from Simonis. First thing it told me, the shiny side goes up! This is accented by "Iwan Simonis" silkscreened on the edges up the upside..

So I get her laid down, and get to work. All goes well until ya get to the side pockets.. Let me tell ya, if ya want an easy cloth to install.. This is a not the greatest choice. However, if ya want the best.. It is! The Simonis cloth does not form and stretch as easily as felt type cloths I have used in the past. So it took some work, and I got her done. The second side was much easier, having learned some tricks on the first side. The corner pockets were cake though, very easy!

Okay, the table top is done! And boy does it look GOOD!!! Moving onto the rails...

Now, I was gonna take these to a professional to have them done.. But, feeling good about my old days of doing automotive upholstery, I figured I would give this a try.. I am glad I did. It is not really as hard as I thought it would be. It is definitely a workout for the hands though! So far, I've finished 4 rails. So, two more to go!! I am definitely not as quick as the pros. Each rail is taking me about 20 minutes. I hear tell of Pros who can do all the rails in about that time! lol, experience helps it seems!!

Anyways, all in all I can not wait to get these last rails done! I am hoping I can finish up tonight, and maybe even play a few racks. When I do, I will follow up with a report on how it plays. Although I know I am going to love it!!!

A big thanks to all who pushed me towards the Electric Blue cloth! Definitely a good looking pick!

ha ha ha ha!! NOT!!!

It was definitely not something I would want to do for a living.. My stapler hand is still throbbing!!

The dead hand sure did not affect my playing though tonight in league!!

My recipe for a 9-Ball AssWhooping:

1. Have team Captain play me last when I wanted to go home early (pissed me off cause I mentioned I wanted to get out early as I was tired)
2. Play with beat up old house cue.
3. Have step-dad call and say he is coming up to watch.
4. Play a SL6. (matching SL's)
5. Play at a pace that rivals Luc Salvas.

Result: 46-12

Well having played on the new cloth for a little over a week, I have some more observations...

1. It sure is an adjustment getting used to how fast it rolls. It is not to difficult, and actually welcomed once ya get it down. You have a lot more options for cue ball placement since you can get a lot more follow and draw.

2. This is the biggest thing I noticed. Jump shots... I think I remember a while back dags mentioning that putting an extra cloth down to protect the table cloth and practice, was a bad thing. Because when you do this, it is easier to jump. Well once again the ole fart was right. With this Simonis cloth, which is thinner, it was a bit different to jump on. Just now finally getting it back down. It did take a little work, but nothing to hard...

Anyways, just some random thoughts... Still loving it!!
