Alright boys and girls, who is going? I should be there late tonight, maybe 11pm or so, oh that reminds me, I still need to book a room.

It's a Florida Pro Tour stop, so all the big local names should be there!!

I have 2 words for you: Full liqour bar

Oh wait, that's 3 words. Either way they have a full serve bar in a pool hall, can't beat that!! Plus the local scenery is pretty nice, lot's of *ahem* female scenery.

Just got the "Lowering Price" cue in today, it is gorgeous. Greg, if you come out I will let you play a few games with it. I might play with it this weekend at the tournament, it hits great!!

That would be totally sweet if you won the tournament with the new Pechauer.

No bar, no pinball machine, no bowling alley, just pool. Nothing else. This is Ames Mister.

I'd say 90% of the bars here are full liquor. The difference between full liquor and just beer/wine cane be huge!! beer/wine license can go from 15-25k.. where as Full liquor can go from 250-500k and you have to enter a lottery to get one!!

Neil, good job in the tourney. Did you use the pechauer that you recently purchased?

There are pool halls with no liquor? 8O I mean, I've heard of the old time pool halls with no alcohol, no food, no music, etc. but I've never actually seen one. Every pool hall I've been to (which is only about 7, but it's just about every place in the 2 big cities I've lived in) has had a full bar, and most served real (bar) food, not just peanuts and pretzels. Maybe it's a regional thing?

It finally clicked.

Even though I have done decently in tournaments in the past and have played good pool, I was never content inside since I was always struggling and never really consistent. This weekend though, something clicked.

It’s like everything came together: I took my time, envisioned the shots, felt what I was supposed to do, saw what I was supposed to and followed through. Amazing!

Before when people would say “good shooting” or “you played a good match”, I would never feel comfortable since I didn’t think that I played that well. Now when people say it, I can truly say “Thank you”, since I can appreciate and feel good about my performance.

Of course this revelation happened after I had already lost my first match in the tournament, but I still made it to 3rd place. I got a “bye” in the second round on the losers, then won 8 straight matches before losing to Butch. Some notable players that I beat were Richard Broumpton, David Grossman, and Robb Saez (8-1). This finish also puts me in 1st place in points for the Florida Pro Tour, funny huh?

I am really looking forward to my next tournament, I feel like I have finally arrived.

Sorry Zach, no I didn't use the new cue. Didn't want to switch cues right before a big tourney.

Nice finish Neil...especially beating Grossman...It was a neat write up at AZ on the tourny....Now I know when I come to Jacksonville, not to play you...mike 8)

Grossman and I have a little rivalry going on, I made him and a lot of people mad this weekend. I was up 5-0 on Tommy Kennedy and he was acting very unlike himself, shooting at shots he normally wouldn't, not pushing out.......that sort of thing. Robb Saez wasn't happy either, I won that match in like 35 minutes.

You know you're playing well when your opponent shows outward frustration that they do not normally show. :)

Neil Fujiwara
06-13-2005, 04:35 PM
It used to bother me when someone was like that, but now I feed off of it and try to use it to my advantage. The more frustrated they get the more calm or lighthearted I try to be. If they are going to show weakness and bad sportsmanship, then I am going to use it against them.

If you really want to mess me up, be really nice to me while we are playing.

You know what is awesome? I go to practice last night and Thorsten is there, so we hit some around for an hour or so.

Even though I feel I am at either at the top of my game or very close to it, I got waxed for that hour or so. He is in good punch right now and doesn't look to miss anything. I learned a couple of position shots which I hope to practice tonight, but it just goes to show how much there is to learn out there.

Thorsten seems to be shooting good right now along with Johnny Archer. I hope you keep your game up, whats the next event youre attending?

Neil, are you playing in the WPC this year?

Neil Fujiwara
06-14-2005, 10:10 AM
I am going to be in Palm Harbor July 9tth and 10th for another Florida Pro Tour event. The company was going to send me to the WPC to represent the company since we are the title cue sponsor, but the trip was deemed too expensive. Which I agree with totally, it would be different if we had a small booth or something to sell product out of to defray the trip's costs.

Next year I am going to try and play as many UPA events as I can to qualify for the WPC, hopefully I can achieve it.

Tony is awesome, actually every person I have met from England were cool as can be.
