*searched but couldn't find the answer*

Has anyone used this product on their fiberglass cue? I have an Excalibur, which I have since replaced as my shooting cue, but I'm interested in using it to break with. My problem is that it REALLY needs cleaning, the shaft creates too much "drag" to even use when breaking (sticks to my hand).

Problem being, I'm not sure if I want to spend the $10 on a product that may be all hype, especially when I'm fine w/o the cue now.

Any advise / experience out there in regards to this product?

All help is appreciated in advance...

You can use a damp cloth or damp paper towel to clean it.
You can also use some rubbing alcohol once in a while.
If you really don't mind to experament with that cue, then try to sand the fiberglass coating a bit and then use a very fine sanding paper to make it smooth.

I have tried the wet paper towel trick and that didn't help at all. I'll have to give the rubbing alcohol a shot in the next couple of days. Are you sure this won't hurt the finish more than help?

Thanks for the info Skor!

I've seen Earl Strickland sands his Cuetec shafts when he doesn't use a glove, I'm sure that the life span of the shaft will be shorter by sanding it but then again it's a Cuetec, who cares

Good point, I guess it's time for some trial and error

It would be nice to get this thing cleaned up though, I'm sure it would make a nice break cue, being 19oz and fairly durable (being fiberglass).

Follow-up:

I broke down and bought the Cuetec brand Hi-Tech cleaner and the stuff worked great!!! Took away all of the "sticky" feeling that my fiberglass shaft had built up, and made the cue playable again.

Also, I found the product in a non-spray bottle and it was much cheaper. The 40ml non-spray was $3 where the 60ml spray bottle was $11!!!
