Hi,

Does anyone know how a longer Schon shaft (30") would affect the hit? I was also thinking of a 12.5mm or 12.75mm diameter. Would the change in length and diameter cause the shaft to become "whippy"? "Whippiness" is my main concern....

I play with a Schon and a moori quick tip. I like the Schon shaft and I dont plan on changing to a Predator.

Thanks for your feedback and opinions.

Oh yeah, This is for the guys at SEYBERTS. I dont remember if I read it here, but do you fit the shaft to the cue? If so, what is the cost and time involved?

Thanks again,
pulayer

A longer shaft will be wippyer, it will cause the cue to vibrate more, this the reason that most snooker cues are only 57 inches long.

Schons hit fairly firm at standard length, so an additional 1" should not ruin the playability nor make it whippy.

A thicker shaft would help make up for longer length as well.

I would say a stronger tapper rather then a thicker shaft will do the trick

True, kind of the same thing as the thickness would go farther down the shaft.

Not quite, if you take a shaft and make it thicker but keep the tapper the the whole shaft will be thicker from tip diametter to joint diameter, ending in a whole cue that is thicker causing the whole cue to be heavier as well, while changing the taper will not change the diameter of the tip or the joint.

I'll buy that.
