View Full Version : coin-op cue ball
Has anyone or does anyone shoot with there own cue ball when you go out and play on a coin-op table? I found that the green logo Aramith is a nice playing coin-op ball and anything will beat those cement cue ball you see around. I just don't want to be the only one out there with a cue ball in my case. What are your thoughts :?:

For some reason I am thinking dags carried his own CB.. But I may be wrong.. It might have been one of the other long time members here, New Kid, Sanj?? I just remember reading about it a while back...
Personally, any bar I go to that only has coin op tables, I dont take seriously.. If I play a game, it is just to goof off and have fun...
However, I know not everyone has a pool hall with nice tables around...
I wasn't talking about my friday nights at the bar but we play league at some bars that sometime you wonder if they know that the cue ball should be white.

Yeah, that is why I hate traveling leagues... Besides the fact I hate to travel, I hate unknowns...

Well, ive seen guys in Dallas bring their own set of balls...so i dont know, youre not the only one i guess. But does it work? I thought coin-op tables had magnectic cue balls....is the one you have magnetic too?
The green logo Aramith cue ball is magnetic and plays better then most bar balls. I'm not thinking of carring a whole set just a cue ball that is worth playing with.
The balls at the pool hall that I go to is in bad shape I always have to go through the sets in order to find a good set (newer then the rest), they're also useing the cheapest aramith sets. I have a friend with a set of Brunswick Centennials and when he comes down he brings them.
I don't carry my own cue ball, the main reason for this is because if I do buy one, it won't be a cheap one, it would be either an aramith super pro cue ball (without the spots) or a blue circle cue ball (that comes with the Centennial), the problem is that these cue balls are heavier then the cheap sets that you would find in bars and in most pool halls and playing with balls in different weights is a big no no !!!! so I rather use the cue ball that comes with the set
