View Full Version : Unravelling Irish linen wrap

Just received a Lucasi L-2010 I ordered online. I love the cue overall except for one problem. I'm noticing the part of the irish linen wrap near the sleeve area to be unravelling a little bit. When I say unravelling I don't mean that it has totally lost adhesion, but only some strands here and there coming loose or sticking out. It doesn't look pretty! Is there anything I can apply to the wrap to give it that nicely pressed look when I first got it. I heard from somebody that a wax of some sort is used to keep the wrap looking shiny and pressed. Is there such a thing? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Yes, there is something you can do but it is best to call Lucasi and see what they can do. All of the Lucasi cues come with a 1 year warranty after purchase. Here is there number and you can see what they will do for you. 1-800-835-7665

I have the Lucasi L-SS9 and it has a related problem. The linen has come loose from the grip. It has done so in sections so that there are a series of sections each about 1 inch in length that have come loose from the grip but the wraps in the group adhear to each other. The sections rotate independently as I shoot. I am constantly adjusting them so that they feel right and look right.

I live in Moscow - sending it back to Lucasi is not convenient. Is there a way to anchor the offending rings together and bond them back onto the grip without major effort, tooling or risk?

I just spoke with my Cue Maker and he told me that there is nothing that would be a quick fix. He suggested the best thing to do is either send it in to Lucasi for the warranty or have someone rewrap for $35.00. thanks and I am sorry that I could not be of more help.
