View Full Version : SKOLLECTION..... Take 2
Here it is..... again 8)
Description (left to right or bottom to top):
1. Cheap cue that I bought at the 2003 WPC and got some pros (22) to sign it
2. Dufferin Classic II - I got it for free from the pool hall I play at, never been used.
3. Dufferin Expert (Sneaky Pete) - Got it for free as well, I test new tips on it and use it when it gets too crowded.
4. Predator 98-1 - My main playing cue for the last 7 years.
5. Predator BK no wrap - My breaking cue dahh
6. McDermott Genuine - My first cue, got as a birthday present from my first APA team
7. Stealth Junior - must have cue if you play league in bars or other crowded places.
8. Jump cue - it's brandless, has "jump stick" written on the shaft but jumps better then a bunjee.
My friend droped his Case at my place so I could put new tips on his cues, so I took some pictures of these cue for you guys, these are very nice cues.
The first on is a Samsara, it has 2 shafts, one with ivory ferrule that has a moori tip on it, on the other one I've put a new Talisman medium pro.
this cue has some nice wood work on it and many inlays, all the white inlays and joint are ivory
the second cue is a Longoni that has a 314 shaft (that I put a new Talisman pro medium tip on it ), this cue has very nice and unique wood work and a unique leather inlays on the grip area.
Enjoy 8)

I like the butterfly points. There is a local cuemaker here, Paul Fanelli who does great work with butterfly points. WPBA pro Kim Shaw shoots with a Fanelli.

My new addition to the SKOLLECTION :
I got to pick another free cue from my pool hall but they didn't have anything that that I liked in the pool cue devision so I took this Dufferin Expert Ash Snooker Cue, I don't know if it'll get much use, if any but it's nice to own one just in case I might want to play some snooker one day
Here is my new Talisman 3x5 case, the leather work is great and the case looks great inside and outside. enjoy the pics...

the BB is anything but new. its all dingd up. it needs refinished and a new wrap put on. it plays great though.
The interior of the case moved up a bit (during shipment, I guess) but I pushed i back down and now it's great (it was weird to me that talisman won't do a great job) so any way I've updated the picure a bit and now it looks great on the inside as well and every thing is in the right length.
As for my new cue, I was looking for a specific Schon cue and wasn't able to find it to my specs, I want to thank Rick from Seyberts who helped me as well but I couldn't find it anywhere.
I ordered a Bill McDaniel cue and I will give more details and post pictures of it once I'll get it (it'll take a while untill it'll be ready)

Do I realy need to answer this one? it's kind of a rhetorical question....... OF COURSE I DID 8)
I'll have it's two original shafts that the cue comes with and an extra 314 shaft, will weight 18.5oz and will have a leather wrap.

Wow skor! Glad to see you finally did it! It is well deserved!
Can't wait to see pics!!! 8)

I went with a 5/16x14 joint with a ss sleeve, it's the same joint I have on my Predator cue and it's the joint I like best and this way I can swap shafts between the cues, so I actualy get a backup 314 shaft as well.
Wow skor! Glad to see you finally did it! It is well deserved!
Can't wait to see pics!!!
Thanks I will post pics of the cue as soon as I get it

Congrats! I am very happy for ya... 8)

(although I don't expect much change since both this cue and my old cue have the same joint type and same shaft)

it looks great skor. congrats.
First impression:
The Moori med is quite harder then the talisman that I'm used to, but it still works great, the shaft finish is a bit rough but I'll work on that tomorrow to make it smoother, the leather grip is another thing that I need to get used to but I'm sure that it will feel perfect by next week.
I took it with me to league tonight although I wasn't sure that it would be a good idea but although my game wasn't 100% with the new cue I won all my 4 matches.
The balance and weight of the cue are perfect and so is the art work, Im really happy with cue.

Looks great Skor. Very similar to my 1st Phillippi except mine didnt have the spears on top of the points. I love the look of it. A classic design moderized a little. Great. I bet it plays jam up! congrats!

skor, what do you mean it was wierd to you Talisman would not do a great job? And after having the case for a while, what are your thoughts now?
Oh, and wrong me if I am correct, but it looks like your name is embossed on it as well? Did you get this case from Seyberts? I did not see anything but a 2x4 in their selection, although I am guessing your case was custom ordered anyway.
Greg, the case is great, Talisman did a great job on it and I'm happy with it.
The case is a bit heavy but it gives a felling of a very protective case, I also use it as a cues holder and since it's heavy if someone accidentlly touch it or slightly bump into it, it will not move.
I got this case from Talisman, Tony had a deal on these case when they just came out and the name embossing was free.
This case has PVC tubes, it's not like the old 2x4 that ware made from molded foam like the case that you see on seybert's
You should ask Sid if they have the new cases in stoke.
BTW Tony from Talisman will ship the case for free and will give you a pack of 9 talisman tips, a hand towl and a polo shirt
it was a test, I lost connection to the server when submiting the other post, so I just wanted to make sure that it was a one time thing

Thanks for the input skor! That is a really sharp case... The shifting of the internals kinda makes me wonder, but eh... I will get in touch with Seņior Sid and see if they have any or can get them.
On a side note, everything okay with you and yours with the bombing in Hadera?
Yeah, me and my family are fine.
Thanks for your concern, it's been a while since we had any terror attacks like this, I guess these a-holes can't sit tight without blowing some people for too long.
The internal of the case is great, the only thing I would change are the pockets, I like the Instroke pockets better.

Good to hear things are okay with ya.
It is terrible what goes on in some areas of this world. I know we could easily write a book here about how pointless it is to blow up innocent civilians. But we all already know this. I just pray for the people and hope for the best.
Stay alert, stay safe... :?

The Pockets are too close to each other so trying to reach into them from the buckles openings is pointless unless you're going from the side zippers, I also like the side compartment for the jump cue butt in the instroke case while in the talisman there is a sleeve for it that is stiched inside the large pocket (see picture)

Skor, I was just wondering, after playing with your new cue for a few months, how do you compare it to your old one (asthetics aside). Do you like it better?
It has a much more solid hit then my old cue and the balance is more forward and I really like it like that.
