Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I no longer work for Seybert's. I will be attending college full time at Kellogg Community College.

In the past 3 years, I have had alot of fun, and learned so much from the company as well as the products that we sell.

I also had quite alot of laughs from you all :)

I will miss everyone, and drop me a pm if you would like to keep in touch with me off the fourm.

Thank you for making my stay at Seybert's a delightful experience :)

Deb,

Good luck and enjoy it. Take it from someone that spent 13 years in college and taught in the University system, you'll do best trying to have fun, just study once in a while!

I really admire people that go back to school, it is a very hard thing to do, so you have my admiration.

Good luck Deb.

I have some advice for your C++ programming. Try to put together a C++ group and then make sure that everyone gets together to discuss the language on a weekly basis. This is the best way to learn this outside the classroom. You can learn from each other. This will make it easier. Oh...make sure you have some good C++ programmers in your group that understand the language better than others.

I am giving you this advice because I went to EMU for CIS. I took a few C++ classes and a Java class. Trying to learn these languages on your own can be extremely difficult. This will make things a little easier if you can do it. No matter what, learning a programming language is very time-consuming. Read your books as much as possible. Make sure you have a computer with a compiler installed so that you can practice the programs in the books as you read them.

When I took these programming classes at EMU they would start out with about 35-40 students. After a couple of weeks, there would be about 20 students left. By the end of the semester, there would be about 15 students left. Of those, maybe 5-10 people would actually pass the class. Some programming languages can be extremely difficult to learn. Don't let this discourage you. Stick with it and you will succeed.

I wish you the best.

Erik

We'll miss you, Deb!

Good luck with college, though. And don't forget to make time to play some pool to maintain your sanity (it's also a great way to make a little extra book money). :)
