I just received an Email reply from Annie Mayes, a former Top Ten WPBA professional player. She has endorsed many cues, including the Predator line.

I asked the following question regarding her E-shaft:

"I would like to get one in the near future. Like I said, I have a Lucasi cue with a uni-loc joint so I would like to be able to use the shaft on this cue. How will your E-shaft perform on a Lucasi butt? Just curious."

Here is her reply:

"Ahhhh - the $64,000.00 question. I think the shaft, as long as the butt is built well, (no loose parts), will perform the same. In other words, it doesn't matter what the butt is as long as the butt is built well.

I put the E-shaft on a Dufferin bar cue that has had the shaft cut off and it will play as good as any other butt made. I never tried putting it on a broom handle, but I suspect, the result would be the same." ~ Annie

WOW!!!! Very interesting!!!! I think I mentioned doing this same thing with a Dufferin house cue. However, I was going to put a 314 shaft on it. Too funny! Everyone thinks I am crazy, but Annie has already done it. Bob Meucci has already put one of his shafts on a broom handle. These are people that know what they are talking about.

If you do not believe that this was Annie's response, you can Email her yourself and ask her the same question I asked her.

Some opinions are worth listening to. Others aren't. This is just my 2 cents.

I'm not sure why you find it necessary to attempt to bolster your arguments by appeal to "authority." I doubt that anyone here would dispute that a good shaft, mated to any butt, is better than a lot of the stock shafts out there. Where reasonable minds differ is in the consideration of the type of joint, the cue maker, wrap, inlays, etc. If one cue design (shaft and butt) were clearly superior for all players, then there would only be one cue maker out there. Really, you're belaboring a senseless issue.

I am merely posting information. That is all. I'm not trying to bolster anything. Sorry. I am asking questions and getting answers from people I trust. In turn, I am making others aware of the information I receive. I don't believe there is anything wrong with this. Is there? And I do agree with you, everything is truly a matter of personal preference.

I'm not forcing anyone to read this post. If you don't like the topic, don't read it and don't make posts I guess.
