I just ordered one of those chalk dudes along with some shirts, glove, etc, are they similiar to the mailman clips with the retractable cords?
yes, the chalk pulls out on a retractable string, chalk up and let go and it retracts back in out of the way untill the next use.

score lol. I almost bought a chalk pocket from a different site but it was just a pocket that strapped onto a belt hehe, this seems like it would be more effective.

 its a good things i just bought a new glove my old one just (10 minutes ago) came out of the wash, i musata left it in my pocket >< and its all unravelling.
A guy gave me a good tip a while back. He kept his glove in a empty 35mm film canister and just threw it in his case from there. Maybe that would keep it out of the wash.

What's the better glove to have. I see where Sir Joseph is the most advertized. But I also saw where there is one that has a velcro wrist band, leather palm and the tips of your fingers stick out. Has anyone usd this one. It's quite a bit more money(but maybe it's worth it. )

Forego the glove. A clean shaft and keep your hands clean and you won't look like a rube.

A dirty table (and most of them are) won't leave your hand clean so you'll still need to wash your hands, glove or not.

I like shooting with a glove but find that they are only good for a couple of months and then they are stretched out and start to catch and grab the cue, especially if the shaft has any imperfections in it.

Ah yes, tables are dirty.
Think about this: Unless you are doing something really strange, the parts of you hand and fingers that guides the shaft during your stroke never come in contact with the table. After a while at the table you can see where your hands get dirty.
Always wash and dry your hands before you begin play. You may think your hands a clean but they are not. Your skin breaths and as it does it secretes oils. If you are playing for a while, or if your hands sweat a lot you may need to take a break to wash them again.
Clean dry skin is very smooth. Unless player has a skin condition, weather checked hands, or calloused, they should not need a glove. Pool is game that is played in the mind as well as on the table. If a glove helps with the mindset, go for it.
