View Full Version : ONE OF A KIND JACOBY

01-31-2005, 12:54 PM
A teammate had his new Jacoby stolen January 4th, 2005. Cocobolo forearm with floating diamonds points of malachite and a red dyed burl. The butt is all alternating diamonds of the same materials as the forearm. Black stack leather wrap with some slightly reddish color intertwined. Two shafts with ivory ferules and an ivory joint. He designed the cue himself and only had the cue six hours before it was boosted from his car. Sorry no pics available. Also taken were an Instroke style case with a Cuetec jump break cue.

For reasons of anonymity I logged in as a guest. If any one thinks they have seen the cue reply to this post and I will get in touch with a PM.

Was wondering why ya deleted the original thread all the sudden.. I went to click on it and it said it did not exist... 8O

Your secret is safe with me though...

Anyway, I would keep a close eye out on eBay. A lot of hot items end up on there...

Sorry your friend had his cue stolen though, that must be pretty upsetting..

Keep an eye on local pawn shops as well, if it was a junkee then he would probably sold it cheap to get quick cash, and there is a chance of finding it, if it was a pool cue freak then forget about it, this cue will not see a day light anymore.
I got my cues insured for cases like this, although it is very upsetting at least I would get some cash to get new cues.

Hey Skor,

How did you get insurance on your cues? Do you walk into a local insurance company like Allstate and say hey I want these insured against theft? I am just curious cause it sounds like a good idea, but I don't know who to talk to.

Thanks

I don't know how the insurance companies work in the USA but here I can get a home insurance for all the goods I have at home and I can expand it over not just theft from my home but also to cover repairs and theft of certain Items outside of the home like cameras, IPods etc. and pool cues...
It doesn't even cost me that much either, for everything I got in my home, from kitchen stuff to cloths and electronics I pay something like $100 a year.

I guess I will have to talk to Allstate then, and see if they can do something like that for me. I have my DJ equipment insured, but that is because it makes me money. I don't think I can tell them I am making a living at pool. LOL

Insuring them sounds like a good idea...especially if you fly anywhere...

Don't know how it work with you, but when I fly, my credit card compay gives me an insurance on my luggage and content, it's one of the benefits we get over here.

You can insure just about anything you own through your homeowner's (or renter's) insurance. That's what they're talking about when the say 'insurance value' on the Antique Roadshow 8)
