View Full Version : Don't drink and drive
This is just a reminder not to drink and drive
this is an Imreza STI
There were two brothers in that car, they both were in a bar last week, the same bar that I go to quite often, the same bar that my cousin works as a bar tender.
One brother, the younger brother (age 27) is dead, his older brother is in critical condition.
Just a reminder
That's very tragic.
Very severe accident. I'm surprised one even made it into the hospital.

The STi is a quick car too, not something you want to be driving around in while intoxicated, very easy to lose control...
That car is definitely mangled though, I am very surpised also that anyone was extracted alive...

Tragic. :(
My late father used to drink a lot and practically crashed all the cars he bought. Amazingly though he never once went to the hospital for it. But not a year would go by without him being admitted to the hospital due to his drinking. Died because of it.

Last year 80% of Accidents involving the a drunk driver in the state of FL, the drunk driver has minor injuries.. Our bodies fare better in a trauma when loose, such as when you are drunk...
That is the irony of it..
Sorry about your father... That is very sad, however... We are fortunate he did live, because with that he created you... And I'd say we are fortunate to have you cebuboy...

Thanks, audio. :)
I think each of us has a purpose. Let's just hope we find out what it is before it's too late.
My purpose is to kick ass on the pool table
Seriously, finding your purpose in life is great but it could be a search that takes a life time, sometimes we understand our purpose a minute before we die and on other times we know it at age 10.

I'm way past 10. Does that mean I'll get to know my purpose a minute before I die? :D
How's the pool hall coming to, skor? :)

Good things to those who wait, right? Drinking and driving should be refrained from. You could hurt yourself and others, perhaps irreparably, and you could go to jail/prison. It is not worth it in the end.

Let's try to remember that next time we go out to shoot pool Fury. Drinking and driving is not worth it in the end.
Have a water instead of a beer...or...a beer...then a water...then a beer...
I will have nothing but water and I will do the driving.
The beer and water thing works great for hangovers. Hangovers are caused by dehydration, so drink plenty of water in between each beer.
Good luck!

Yeah, I try to also make sure if I have had a bit to drink to take some kind of pain reliver before going to sleep. It keeps me from having a headache, and if I do have one it is very slight. :)

You're not supposed to take pain relievers while intoxicated. One day you may not wake up. At least your headache will be gone though.

You won't get a headache if you drink lots of water between each beer. The dehydration factor is what causes the hangover and headache, so keep yourself hydrated. You don't need to take a pain reliever. I wouldn't want you to never wake up again.

It doesn't matter to me. I'm not you. If you want to die, that is your choice. If you want to live and not have a hangover or headache, that is your choice. You choose.

ARE YOU DEHYDRATED
Are you drinking enough water? If you're experiencing the following symptoms, chances are, you need more water than you're currently drinking.
Mild dehydration symptoms:
Thirst
Dry lips
Dry mouth
Moderate dehydration symptoms:
Lack of skin elasticity
Sunken eyes
Severe dehydration symptoms:
All the above symptoms
Rapid, weak pulse
Cold extremities
Rapid breathing
Confusion
Lethargy
In addition to simply neglecting to drink enough water, the human body can become dehydrated from vomiting, diarrhea, overexposure to the sun and fever. Diuretics and natural diuretics such as alcohol and caffeine can also cause dehydration. Although drinking plenty of water can easily cure most cases of dehydration, if not tended to, severe cases of dehydration can result in death.
THERE YA GO!!!!

Good...here is a portion of that article.
"The morning after heavy drinking, the body sends a desperate message to replenish its water supply -- usually manifested in the form of an extremely dry mouth. Headaches result from dehydration because the body's organs try to make up for their own water loss by stealing water from the brain, causing the brain to decrease in size and pull on the membranes that connect the brain to the skull, resulting in pain."
DRINK WATER WHILE YOU DRINK!!!!

The Vodka and Rum are pretty close. I'm talking about beer compared to Rum since that was the main point of our discussion the other day. I should have emphasized that.
Beer - 3.2%-4% alcohol content
Vodka - 40%-50% alcohol content
Rum - 40%-95% alcohol content

The alcohol content in a drink does not alone determine whether such a drink is a girly drink or not. Beer is not, and has never been, a girly drink.

This is YOUR opinion. I'm just giving you some facts since you seem to think that mixed drinks are for girls. Your beer doesn't even compare to a Captain & Coke. Not even close. Sophisticated and well-educated people tend to prefer mixed drinks, or other drinks, over beer. I have noticed that over the years. Just my experience and observation.

Well, saying that since beer is lower alcohol content than mixed drinks makes it a girly drink is utter hogwash. There are many mixed drinks that are girly drinks, in fact all girly drinks are mixed drinks. Not all mixed drinks are girly drinks, however.

Why are some mixed drinks considered "girly" drinks? I am curious to know the answer. YOUR ANSWER!!!! Is it because some of them are colorful or something? It's a freaking stereotype dude. Most girls know how to drink and what to drink and can drink a lot of guys under the table. Beer is for girlz. I am starting a new Stereotype. lol

I bet a lot of people on here prefer mixed drinks to beer though...even the guys.
Anyway, where is the answer to my question?

I have not been proven wrong. There are no terms to come to. You are giving me OPINIONS not PROOF.
You drink your beer. I will drink my Captain & Coke. It's a matter of preference. And if I choose to drink other mixed drinks, so be it. Even wine coolers have more alcohol in them than a beer. I actually like those better than beer too. I could care less if it is considered by some a "girly" drink. Big deal! I guess I drink "girly" drinks that have more alcohol in them than the beer you drink. You can't handle mixed drinks.
You just like to annoy me. That is your goal every day.
I bet there are a lot of other men on here that drink mixed drinks of all kinds. I bet Audio mixes his Grey-Goose Vodka (or whatever it is) with something.

Yup, usually mix it with cranberry. I actually got started drinking the Vodka/Cranberry when I was dating a spanish girl. Amongst the Puerto Rican culture, Vodka/Cranberry is a popular drink. She had very high tastes in alcohol, hence the fact she used only Grey Goose. That influenced me, and now when I do drink hard stuff, that is my only choice.
Been trying to cut back the drinking though, I have an alcoholic beverage maybe once a week, more often once every couple weeks... :?
