i was thinking of purchasing a lesson video. could anybody who knows about them give me a few recomendations please? they would be greatly appreciated. konur

Get Robert Byrnes videos there's some good stuff in them :wink:

Yeah the Byrnes vids are the only ones I have seen, except for on by Minnessotta Fats. The Fats video I did see I was not impressed, did not learn much except that he was a grumpy old man..

Bob Byrnes' videos I actually learned a good bit.

I have Byrne videos I and II, and recommend them.

I would recommend Byrne's Standard Book of Pool and Billiards and his Advanced book (among others) before any instructional video I have seen. Videos leave a lot to be desired when compared to the better books. Unless of course the person can’t read. And if that happens to be the case then this posting is worthless to that person.

Anyway that’s my opinion.

If you do go the video route the Byrne videos are good, for videos that is.

if you agree on byrnes, then they must be the best. been playing for years but want to learn some new drills and practice games. thanks for your help guys take care. :D

Check your local video store and pool hall to see if they rent them. Or you can try your local library and if the don't have them they may be able to get them through interlibrary loan.

I got the Byrnes VOL I, II and V.....

Those are really good, the VOL I is too basic (but good) the VOL II have nice information and the VOL V have good drills to develop different aspect of the game
