View Full Version : About Break Cues..
Hi, there :)
I don't know where to post this topic, so I apologize for it 1st.
Ask anybody with a Break cue or with a Break/Jump cue
1) Usually how heavy is your Break cue? and why?
2) What is your shaft diameter? and why?
3) Is a Break/Jump cue good? and why?
4) For all those questions above, please recommand some good Break cues and Break/Jump cue.
Really appreciate

HI
My break cue is a 19 oz Predator BK. It's 19 oz the same as my playing cue. I find this gives me a similar feel, but it's down to personal prefernce. Some people prefer a heavier cue but i prefer it lighter to increase cue speed through the ball, try some see what works.
Again my tip diameter is the same as my playing cue, i have never really thought about it's size it's just the way it happened because they are both Predator Shafts. It helps to keep both cues as similar as possible should you ever break a ferrule or lose a tip  .
I dont use a jump/break cue because i like the way i break with my Pred BK, This is a by-product of me using a bunjee jump because i find it easier(tools for the job), again that's personal preference.
After using a Pred BK i would never go back to another break cue, But you do need a seperate jump cue. if you want an all in one try a falcon or a buffalo(both very good makers). i did use a cuetec with a thunderbolt shaft for a while and that was ok, but i would draw your attention to the tip, very important for getting consistant breaks.
Bear in mind all viking cues have a QR jump break option.
hope this helps.
