se4 is mighty attractive...i liked the se1 or 2, cant really remember which one it was, but i thad the wrap.
Zach
I think the only one with a wrap was the SE1.
I like pechauer.this is a much better cue than a falcon butt and predator shaft.

Ya, they do make a quality butt, but i do like the falcon that came on my spwu, i think its a quality butt end.
Zach
I agree that the spwu is good value for money.
What I think is poor value are the 4k5/6.
buy another butt and get a predator shaft to fit.
It makes the Venture seem like a bargain.

Ya, the K series of predator cues arent the best buy in my opnion, but thats my opnion. They are still nice looking cues.
Zach
they are nice looking cues.but you can get a better cue for less money and also have an extra normal shaft.

Ya, that is the downside to having a predator cue...no extra shaft

We specialize in making shafts, especially for different models of cues. We don't offer many models unlike other companies, but we do make a few for the people that want a full Predator cue.
Interestingly, I spoke with a custom cue-maker the other day. I was talking to him about making me a new cue (well, actually only the butt) to replace my Predator 3K-1. He said he didn't think it would make a difference in feel or play, and that he would save the money and do something else with it. The same guy has earned my gratitude and respect by replacing the tips on both of my Predator shafts with Talisman Pro M tips, and cleaning and waxing both shafts, for a total of $15. He had put the Talisman on one of the shafts before, about a year ago, and it delaminated, probably because of aggressive shaping on my part. He apologized, and cut me a great deal. It's nice to have someone be honest, instead of trying to make a sale.
This is exactly what I've saying here (and in other places) over and over again, the butt does not change the way the cue play and if you take two butts of the same weight, balance and joint type they will feel the same as well, the difference in price would be because of materials used and time that took to make the butt, as long as the shaft is Predator, the rest does not matter, but sometimes you just want to spoil yourself with a nice looking cue :)

Well, there is some truth to what you guys are saying, but there is also another level to it. More on a custom level.
As far as production cues go, yes, a cue with the same weight, balance and materials should feel comparable.
Neil, I'm curious. In what way would you want a custom butt designed to help your game? I really like the feel of my 3K-1, and have thought about how I would change it -- leather wrap, that kind of thing. But what really makes a difference in the feel?
Density of the wood you are using, mostly matching the forearm wood with the handle wood to achieve the "hit/ feel" that you want. Also, if the cues are cored what woods and style of coring you are doing.
I am not talking about the aesthetic design, purely structural design.
We can always argue joint types, collar types...... etc. etc., but no one can prove anything, plus most of the "hit/feel" is perception anyway.
