Hi guys..from Singapore here. Can anyone tell me the difference between the genesis MG6(black onyx no wrap) and the Alpha series C157 (black onyx no wrap)...looks almost the same but priced 40 dollars more for the genesis..

Thanks all. Thinking of getting one and adding a 314shaft to the package!

MG-06 is going to eventually be replaced officially in our line with the C-157.

So is that to say that they will perform the same/basically are the same?

Well...I always tell people that the shafts on all our cues are from the same stock. (Exception being PRestige cues...and of course not including the new Intimidator Shafts)

So the playability of all of our cues is pretty much the same.

Of course, differences in hit and balance depending on exotic woods and joints...but a 3/8 10 wood to wood joint maple cue is going to play/feel the exact same as any other 3/8 10 wood to wood joint maple cue.

Thanks Steve so can I the assume that I should save myself the $40 and get the C157 if all I want is the design of the black Onyx without wrap?

I thought the genesis series was a new series...or at least newer than the Alpha or am I wrong?

Thanks

The Alpha is newer than the Genesis series.

Thanks my fren... then I'm likely to get the C157 + a 314 shaft.. gonna be exciting when I receive my first ever cue hohoho

now I gotta figure out which case to get - I like the porper hard cases(2x2-79.95) and the Giuseppe cases(1x2-$59 , 2x2-$79). decisions decisions.... Have u any experience with either?

Anyone knows if the Porper soft case fits 1x1 or 1x2?

Is getting a soft case a bad idea u think then?

Don't get a soft case, it is not protective as a hard case.
The Porper cases are great cases, I have a 2x2 that I got a bout 6 years ago and it looks like new, the thing I like about the Giuseppe is that you can put the butt in with the joint up, this way you don't have to get joint protectors.

I wouldn't ever get a soft case. :!: Spend a little, save a cue. It will be money well spent.
