How much difference in the performance of each of these Belgian sets of Arimaths? Looking at replacing my old cheapies with something a little nicer. Quite a range from 59 bucks to 139...and what makes the $189 Brunswick (other than pattern) so much more? mike
Because of the friction between the balls and the cloth, over time balls lose their "roundness", causing them not to roll streight and bounce from the rail in a weird way, the more expensive balls such as the Aramith Super Pro and the Brunswick Centennial, are made from a material that is more densed, so it will keep it's shape for a longer period of time, these balls are less likely to chip when flying off the table.
Because of the density of the material, they are also heavier, that means that their mass is bigger so they will roll more with a soft hit, it's also easier to "cheat the pocket" with those balls because of their weight/mass they will stay close to the rail and not bounce of it that fast as cheap balls do.
You might say that these things are neglectable for the amateur player, but trust me, after playing with those balls for a few months, you won't belive the difference in pocketing balls and controling the CB.
Super Arimith - Brunswick - Same exacting standards. Brunswick, has the cool design. That is it.

Could that be because Aramith makes the Centennial balls?
The Aramith Super Pro balls will last longer than cheaper balls and will wear the cloth less as well.
Could that be because Aramith makes the Centennial balls?
Where did you get that piece of information ????

To my knowledge, Aramith has made Centennial balls for a very long time. They are on the level of the Aramith Super Pro balls and differ in essence only in the colors and the unique decoration around the numbers.
Aramith do make Centenial balls both are made in belgium by Saluc.

If you do decide and make the plunge for the Centennials, opt for the "premier" set. A few dollars more will get you a better matched set.
